This position is based in Pretoria.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Key responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assemble, configure and support end-point devices, inclusive of the necessary user support required;<\/li>\n<li>Perform the necessary debugging on all equipment to ensure proper functionality, and help out on all projects that involve end-user support;<\/li>\n<li>Perform basic network and telephony service support, installations, configuration and provide general user advice where required;<\/li>\n<li>Troubleshoot software and hardware;<\/li>\n<li>Conduct desktop management, maintenance, and roll-out mechanism;<\/li>\n<li>Provide support for both network and stand-alone printers;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure desktop functionality is available and accessible at all times to CSIR end-users;<\/li>\n<li>Support Microsoft and Linux desktops in a Novell environment;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure quality service is provided to clients.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications, skills, and experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A National Diploma or Bachelor\u2019s degree in information technology;<\/li>\n<li>A+ certificate would be advantageous;<\/li>\n<li>Basic computer knowledge;<\/li>\n<li>Good customer relations and communication skills;<\/li>\n<li>Stress management skills and ability to handle difficult customers;<\/li>\n<li>A team player and lateral thinker who takes initiative.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/candidate.csir.co.za\/psp\/hr91prd_cgw\/EMPLOYEE\/HRMS\/c\/HRS_HRAM.HRS_CE.GBL?Page=HRS_CE_JOB_DTL&amp;Action=A&amp;JobOpeningId=309013&amp;SiteId=1&amp;PostingSeq=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CLICK HERE TO VIEW AND APPLY ONLINE<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The CSIR has an opportunity for an Intern who will provide first-line support to end-users within the CSIR.
