{"id":39441,"date":"2018-03-08T11:09:01","date_gmt":"2018-03-08T09:09:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=39441"},"modified":"2018-03-08T13:48:56","modified_gmt":"2018-03-08T11:48:56","slug":"global-citizenship-programme-internship-opportunity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/global-citizenship-programme-internship-opportunity.html","title":{"rendered":"Global Citizenship Programme Internship Opportunity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Global Citizenship Programme is pleased to announce that we are looking for four suitably qualified graduates to join our team this year as paid interns.<\/p>\n<p>As per the attached advertisement, it is an 8 month, 60 hours per month internship and we seek particularly to attract Black South Africans.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 A minimum of an undergraduate degree<br \/>\n\u2022 An interest in teaching and learning<br \/>\n\u2022 An understanding of the importance of social justice and transformation in HE<br \/>\n\u2022 Evidence of curiosity, enthusiasm and an openness to learning<br \/>\n\u2022 Excellent communication skills<br \/>\n\u2022 Being a good team player<br \/>\n\u2022 Proactivity and the ability to use one\u2019s initiative<br \/>\n\u2022 Being flexible with hours when necessary<br \/>\n\u2022 Good knowledge of computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, internet searches etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The following would be advantageous:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Familiarity with the GC programme<br \/>\n\u2022 Have completed either of our short courses GC1, GC2 or the Social infrastructures course.<br \/>\n\u2022 Knowledge of the UCT context<br \/>\n\u2022 Interested in a career in academia<br \/>\n\u2022 Networking skills<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience of tutoring and working with diverse students<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience with Excel<\/p>\n<p>VISIT:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.globalcitizen.uct.ac.za\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0Global Citizenship Programme<\/a><\/p>\n<p>UCT:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/forms.uct.ac.za\/hr201.doc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">APPLICATION FORM DOWNLOAD<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The cost of employment is R8 340.00 per month.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In your covering letter you need to address the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>why you are interested in the position;<\/li>\n<li>what experience do you have to contribute towards the position i.e. why you think you are a suitable candidate for the position;<\/li>\n<li>an indication of which of the 4 specific areas of responsibility you are interested in including what relevant experience you bring to that particular responsibility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please ensure the title and reference number are indicated in the subject line.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Global Citizenship Programme is pleased to announce that we are looking for four suitably qualified graduates to join our team this year as paid interns.
