Competition law is fast growing areas linked to the dynamic field of competition policy in South Africa and abroad.<\/p>\n
The Competition Commission requires young dynamic graduates, enthusiastic and energetic, with an aptitude for research and analysis to join the Competition Commission as Graduate Trainees.<\/p>\n
The Competition Commission is responsible for: investigating and assessing anti-competitive behavior in response to complaints, investigating large mergers, making a referral to the Competition Tribunal; and investigating and deciding on intermediate mergers. In addition, it undertakes advocacy work to promote compliance with the Competition Act.<\/p>\n
Please note the programme is available on a twelve 12-18 months fixed term contract.
\nSkills & Experience<\/p>\n
Requirements:<\/b><\/p>\n\n- Bachelor of Laws degree(LLB).<\/li>\n
- Admitted as an attorney or advocate.<\/li>\n
- Be a South African citizen.<\/li>\n
- Have obtained an average of 60% pass rate.<\/li>\n
- A consistent academic performer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Competencies:<\/b><\/p>\n\n- Good analytical, research and investigative skills.<\/li>\n
- Well-developed writing skills.<\/li>\n
- Interpersonal skills as well as computer literacy are prerequisites.<\/li>\n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill.<\/li>\n
- Be a self-starter.<\/li>\n
- The ability to work under pressure.<\/li>\n
- An energetic, dynamic and committed individual.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
