{"id":39866,"date":"2018-04-11T11:11:34","date_gmt":"2018-04-11T09:11:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=39866"},"modified":"2018-04-11T11:11:34","modified_gmt":"2018-04-11T09:11:34","slug":"lay-counsellor-intern-aurum-institute-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/lay-counsellor-intern-aurum-institute-2018.html","title":{"rendered":"Lay Counsellor Intern at The Aurum Institute 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>people and communities through innovation in Global Health Research and Systems.<\/p>\n<p>We are focused on research, support and implementing integrated approaches to managing TB and HIV.<\/p>\n<p>The following positions have become available as part of the Health System Division projects.<br \/>\nJob Functions Counselling<\/p>\n<p><b>YOUR JOB WILL BE TO:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>HIV Counselling and Testing and Adherence Counselling<\/li>\n<li>Support facilities for HIV Counselling and Testing and counseling of TB patients. This includes conducting HCT in the communities.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct health education or talk on HIV and AIDS and TB.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct pre-test counseling including sexual risk assessment and counseling. Obtain patients\u2019 consent.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct rapid HIV testing and screen patients for TB using symptoms.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct post-test counseling and any follow-up counseling as required by patients to accept and deal with their status.<\/li>\n<li>Refer patients appropriately including for ART and Pre-ART, TB investigation, psychosocial support, support groups (I-ACT).<\/li>\n<li>Ensure proper collection of data and completion of required information including demographic and patients\u2019 results.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare patients for ART initiation.<\/li>\n<li>Counsel patients on adherence to ART and TB treatments.<\/li>\n<li>Educate patients on ART and TB drugs.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct follow up adherence counseling to non-adherent patients.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Requirements <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Grade 12 or equivalent.<\/li>\n<li>Basic Counselling certificate<\/li>\n<li>HIV testing certificate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Experience:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in Paediatric counselling will be an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Other:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic knowledge on HIV and AIDS and TB.<\/li>\n<li>Basic Counselling Skills will be an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Valid driver\u2019s license and basic computer literacy will be an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<div>Salary:\u00a0Market Related<\/div>\n<div>Location:\u00a0Tembisa<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Job Closing Date:\u00a013\/04\/2018<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/aurum.jb.skillsmapafrica.com\/Job\/Index\/20707\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CLICK HERE TO APPLY<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>people and communities through innovation in Global Health Research and Systems.
