Skills Development System (MSDS) 2019 (Air Force, Defence Force, Navy)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In cooperation with the Services (SA Army, SA Air Force, and SA Navy), Defence Intelligence is offering young South African citizens an excellent opportunity to serve in uniform over a two-year period.<\/p>\n<p>The Military Skills Development System (MSDS) is a two-year voluntary service system which is aimed at affording young people skills, which could assist in their quest for employment in the job market.<\/p>\n<p>Young recruits are required to sign up for a period of two-years, during which they will receive Military Training, further Functional Training and skills training.<\/p>\n<p><u>Minimum Requirements:\u00a0<strong>SOUTH AFRICAN ARMY<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>South African Citizen with no dual citizenship.<\/li>\n<li>Applicant aged between 18 and 22 with Grade 12 or 18 and 26 for applicants with tertiary qualifications (national diploma\/degree\/postgraduate diplomas and postgraduate degrees).<\/li>\n<li>Successfully completed grade 12 with university entrance<\/li>\n<li>Leadership potential<\/li>\n<li>Not be area bound.<\/li>\n<li>Have no criminal record or pending cases.<\/li>\n<li>Comply with medical fitness requirements for appointments in the SANDF.<\/li>\n<li>Be prepared to serve in uniform, undergo Basic Military and Functional Training.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Training will be decentralized to operational units where members will be appointed to undergo basic Basic Military Training, mustering training and be deployed as per requirements of the SA Army.<\/p>\n<p><u>General Requirements for\u00a0<strong>SA AIR FORCE<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<p><u><strong>Pilots\/Navigators\/Engineers<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Members with Commercial Pilots License (CPL) not older than 26 years of age with level &#8211; 4 Maths and Science required.<\/li>\n<li>26 years if in possession of a degree with level &#8211; 4 Maths and Science.<\/li>\n<li>18-24 Years &#8211; Completed grade 12 or Equivalent\u00a0(university entrance) mathematics and physical science level 4 ( essential)<\/li>\n<li>Mathematics and Physical Science (N4 to N5 minimum-60%; N6 or 1st-year University of Technology or University minimum-50%)<\/li>\n<li>Have 6\/6 eye vision ( no contact lenses or corrective lenses or surgery)<\/li>\n<li>Not area bound<\/li>\n<li>No criminal record<\/li>\n<li>Physically and Medically Fit<\/li>\n<li>Unmarried<\/li>\n<li>RSA Citizenship (NO DUAL)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u><strong>Technical and General\u00a0<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>RSA Citizen NO dual citizenship<\/li>\n<li>18-25\u00a0years of age<\/li>\n<li>English as a passed subject<\/li>\n<li>Mathematics and Science as Level-3<\/li>\n<li>Unmarried<\/li>\n<li>Not area bound<\/li>\n<li>No criminal record<\/li>\n<li>Medically and physically fit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Requirements for\u00a0<strong>NAVY<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<p><u><strong>Matric<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>18-22 years old with Matric\u00a0certificate with Mathematics and Physical Science (Level3) for Combat applicants<\/li>\n<li>Engineering and technical applicants aged between 18 and 22 must have completed grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science Level 3 for both subjects.<\/li>\n<li>MRS\/Protection Personnel applicants aged between 18 and 22 must have completed grade 12<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u><strong>Graduate<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aged between 18 and 26, completed Grade 12 with a Degree, National Diploma or N6 with Trade test Certified in Mechanical, Marine or Electrical Engineering, National Diploma in HR or
