{"id":40066,"date":"2018-04-25T13:04:57","date_gmt":"2018-04-25T11:04:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=40066"},"modified":"2018-04-25T13:04:57","modified_gmt":"2018-04-25T11:04:57","slug":"intern-counselling-psychologists-university-pretoria-4-openings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/intern-counselling-psychologists-university-pretoria-4-openings.html","title":{"rendered":"Intern For Counselling Psychologists At University Of Pretoria [4 Openings]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The incumbents will be responsible for rendering counseling psychology services to students\/young adults to ensure academic success and emotional wellness.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Intern: Counselling Psychologists (Four Posts) (One-Year Contract Appointment) &#8211; Student Support Division<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>DEPARTMENT OF STUDENT AFFAIRS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>STUDENT SUPPORT DIVISION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>INTERN: COUNSELLING PSYCHOLOGISTS (FOUR POSTS) (ONE YEAR CONTRACT APPOINTMENT)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In pursuit of the ideals of excellence and diversity, the University of Pretoria wishes to invite applications for the following vacancy.<\/p>\n<p>The University of Pretoria&#8217;s commitment to quality makes us one of the top research Universities in the country and gives us a competitive advantage in international science and technology development.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This will include the development and identification of training and guidance programmes to enhance the academic success of students\/young adults.<\/p>\n<p><u>The successful candidates will actively participate in the following areas:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Psychotherapeutic \/ counseling services to students \/ young adults to ensure academic and emotional wellness;<\/li>\n<li>Group work sessions as part of the co-curricular programme for students \/ young adults;<\/li>\n<li>Career assessment, report writing, and counseling;<\/li>\n<li>Development of training and therapeutic programmes in view of the identified needs of students \/ young adults;<\/li>\n<li>Providing therapeutic services to children at other off-campus institutions as part of training;<\/li>\n<li>Mandatory supervision as part of training;<\/li>\n<li>Render a 24-hour crisis line service on rotation;<\/li>\n<li>Data analyzing as part of the research process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven registration as an MA or MSc Counselling Psychology Intern at an accredited university;<\/li>\n<li>Registration as an Intern Psychologist with HPCSA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good interpersonal skills;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team;<\/li>\n<li>Efficient planning, organising and prioritising skills;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure;<\/li>\n<li>Professionalism, confidentiality, and sensitivity towards the diversity of students;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);<\/li>\n<li>Computer skills in MS Word, PowerPoint and e-mail;<\/li>\n<li>Ethical insight and reliability;<\/li>\n<li>To be available on call for the 24-hour Crisis line on a rotating basis;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage crisis interventions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>In applying for this post, please attach:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A comprehensive CV;<\/li>\n<li>Certified copies of registration as a current MA or MSc Counselling Psychology student;<\/li>\n<li>Certified copy of registration as a current Student Psychologist with the HPCSA;<\/li>\n<li>Certified copies of undergraduate qualifications;<\/li>\n<li>Certified copies of academic results;<\/li>\n<li>Names, e-mail addresses and telephone details of three referees whom we have permission to contact;<\/li>\n<li>Self-evaluation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/upnet.up.ac.za\/psp\/career\/EMPLOYEE\/HRMS\/c\/HRS_HRAM.HRS_APP_SCHJOB.GBL?Page=HRS_APP_SCHJOB&amp;Action=U&amp;FOCUS=Applicant&amp;SiteId=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CLICK HERE TO: INTERN: COUNSELLING PSYCHOLOGISTS (FOUR POSTS)<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The incumbents will be responsible for rendering counseling psychology services to students\/young adults to ensure academic success and emotional wellness.
