{"id":40209,"date":"2018-05-04T11:47:01","date_gmt":"2018-05-04T09:47:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=40209"},"modified":"2018-05-04T11:47:01","modified_gmt":"2018-05-04T09:47:01","slug":"masakhisizwe-bursary-programme-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/masakhisizwe-bursary-programme-2019.html","title":{"rendered":"MasakhiSizwe Bursary Programme 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The name MasakhiSizwe comes from the Nguni tribe meaning let&#8217;s Build the Nation and aims to develop the nation through education and training.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Transport and Public Works established the MasakhiSizwe Bursary Programme in 2006.<\/p>\n<p>It partnered with Higher Education Institutions (HEI), Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and the relevant professional bodies to develop professionals in engineering and the built environment fields by offering bursaries to study towards a degree or higher diploma in the following disciplines:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Property studies<\/li>\n<li>Transport economics<\/li>\n<li>Transportation engineering<\/li>\n<li>Mechatronics<\/li>\n<li>Electrical and\/or electronic engineering<\/li>\n<li>Civil engineering<\/li>\n<li>Construction management<\/li>\n<li>Mechanical engineering<\/li>\n<li>Quantity Surveying<\/li>\n<li>Town\/City and regional planning<\/li>\n<li>Architecture, etc<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Where can the bursaries be taken up?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The University of Cape Town.<\/li>\n<li>Stellenbosch University.<\/li>\n<li>The Cape Peninsula University of Technology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Who can apply for a bursary?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>To apply for one of these bursaries you must be:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A South African citizen.<\/li>\n<li>Be accepted at the relevant tertiary institution.<\/li>\n<li>We will\u00a0give preference\u00a0to financially disadvantaged female learners from rural areas of South Afric<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>The MasakhiSizwe Bursary Programme:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prioritises financially disadvantaged learners when awarding bursaries, especially women and learners from rural communities .<\/li>\n<li>Provides support services programmes.<\/li>\n<li>Secures learning opportunities for MasakhiSizwe bursars (i.e. interns).<\/li>\n<li>Secures employment opportunities for graduates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Closing Date: 30 September Annually<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westerncape.gov.za\/assets\/departments\/transport-public-works\/Documents\/2019_mis_bursary_application_form.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BURSARY APPLICATION LINK<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westerncape.gov.za\/service\/masakhisizwe-bursary-programme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u><strong>Click Here to MasakhiSizwe Bursary Link<\/strong><\/u><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The name MasakhiSizwe comes from the Nguni tribe meaning let&#8217;s Build the Nation and aims to develop the nation through education and training.
