We are looking for a capable engineer who has an interest in production and wants to stay in Cape Town. They would be primarily responsible for our production planning – taking the order from the sales department and creating all the purchase orders and jobs using MRP software (SYSPRO) for the production department to manufacture. This person builds the high level BOMs and creates all the routings\/operations for each component. A knowledge of databases, SQL and VBA would be useful as we do a lot of backdoor edits on the SYSPRO database . We have written software to take the BOM directly from Solidworks assemblies and modify the SYSPRO structure. We have plans to make that link more interactive so from Solidworks the designer can see things like live stock levels. These are the things that make the job interesting to a high level person.<\/p>\n
We do all our new product development and detailed design work from our Cape Town office so there would be exposure to these disciplines, and opportunities to assist with these and other engineering functions.
\nDegree requirements We are prepared to offer training as attitude and aptitude are more important to us than experience. Obviously knowledge and experience of electronics and machining would be extremely favourable.<\/p>\n
