The organisation\u2019s core concern is to protect children who are at risk.\u00a0 This includes neglected, abused, abandoned and orphaned children, a large majority of whom are either infected or affected by HIV\/AIDS.<\/p>\n<p>Child Welfare Durban and District\u00a0seeks to employ a\u00a0Facility Manager, to be\u00a0based in\u00a0Lakehaven Child and Youth Care Centre,\u00a0Durban.<\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will be responsible for the facilities residential programme which is registered for 60 children and has a staff complement of 30.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Facility Manager<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Durban<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong>\u00a0R180 000 per annum<br \/>\n<strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Managerial experience<\/li>\n<li>Degree in Social Work or Btech in Child &amp; Youth Care<\/li>\n<li>Registered with the Council for Social Service Professions.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum two to five years\u2019 experience as a Social Worker or Senior Child and Youth Care Worker<\/li>\n<li>Valid un-endorsed Driver\u2019s License<\/li>\n<li>Be able to provide effective leadership to a staff team<\/li>\n<li>Have excellent organisational and communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Show a high level of professional competency and total familiarity with current developments in the theory and practice of social and child care work<\/li>\n<li>Be conversant with current government welfare policy documents relating to children, welfare in general and the financing of welfare services<\/li>\n<li>Strong managerial skills including people management, preparation and management of budget and ability to exercise control over expenditure<\/li>\n<li>Ability to provide professional development of staff in the department<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team, including professional and child and youth care workers<\/li>\n<li>A strong developmental approach to child and youth care programmes<\/li>\n<li>Manage and supervise the day-to-day operation of staff and volunteers assigned to Residential Department team and ensure the attainment of all key performance areas and take appropriate remedial action where necessary<\/li>\n<li>Identify problem areas and recommend solutions to the Senior Manager<\/li>\n<li>Undertake related duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<li>Implement strategy as determined<\/li>\n<li>The ability to identify challenges and recommend changes accordingly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit your CV,\u00a0three contactable references to<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:recruitment@cwdd.org.za\">recruitment@cwdd.org.za<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>8 June, 2018<\/p>\n<p>If you have not received a response within two weeks of the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Child Welfare Durban and District is a nonprofit organisation that provides a wide range of services to children, their families and communities in the Durban and Umlazi areas.
