The organisations goal is to transform their lives through the joy of sport, and to transform the lives of their families and communities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Financial Accountant<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Johannesburg<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the position is to manage and implement the entire financial accounting system and has an understanding of the NGO sector.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare Management Accounting Reports for management and relevant external parties<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and manage programme, project and organisational budgets<\/li>\n<li>Cash flow management and forecasting<\/li>\n<li>Submission of all statutory returns such as VAT and employee tax and liaison with authorities e.g. SARS<\/li>\n<li>Implement and maintain effective system internal controls, processes and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and draft financials up to trial balance and monthly recons<\/li>\n<li>Effective payment processes in accordance with budgets and cash flow<\/li>\n<li>Mobilise, coordinate, influence, monitor, safeguard and evaluate the use of resources from government, external donors and the private sector<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the implementation of the strategic plan to maximize the impact of all investments<\/li>\n<li>Administer the full monthly payroll function<\/li>\n<li>Administer petty cash<\/li>\n<li>Office and other administrative tasks<\/li>\n<li>Other ad-hoc duties that can be reasonably expected from a person in the position<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accountancy qualification (Diploma or BCom) plus relevant experience<\/li>\n<li>Experience in working in the NGO field in a similar role will be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Experience in project planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting from a financial perspective<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy with Excel skills is a must<\/li>\n<li>Experience in Pastel or a similar accounting package will be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Self- starter that is self-motivated and ready to make a difference in the organisation<\/li>\n<li>Communication, analytical and problem solving abilities<\/li>\n<li>Ability to negotiate and\u00a0attention to detail<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, send your CV,\u00a0motivational letter and two contactable references to\u00a0<strong>ancilla@specialolympics.org.za<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>8 June, 2018<\/p>\n<p>Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.<\/p>\n<p>Special Olympics South Africa reserves the right not to fill this position.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Special Olympics South Africa transforms lives through the joy of sport, every day, everywhere.
