{"id":40658,"date":"2018-06-06T11:55:58","date_gmt":"2018-06-06T09:55:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=40658"},"modified":"2018-06-06T11:55:58","modified_gmt":"2018-06-06T09:55:58","slug":"sex-worker-education-advocacy-taskforce-sweat-new-opportunity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/sex-worker-education-advocacy-taskforce-sweat-new-opportunity.html","title":{"rendered":"Sex Worker Education and Advocacy Taskforce (SWEAT)  New Opportunity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sex Worker Education and Advocacy Taskforce (SWEAT) is a dynamic non-governmental organisation that addresses the health and human rights of sex workers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Legal Defence Centre Attorney<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Cape Town<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage a small team of paralegals, and human rights defenders and will coordinate activities in defence of sex worker\u2019s rights<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa<\/li>\n<li>Four years of post-qualification experience<\/li>\n<li>English language and writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of human rights issues, particularly in relation to sex workers<\/li>\n<li>Experience in drafting legal pleadings and opinions<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of and practical experience in the South African criminal justice environment<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure and independently<\/li>\n<li>Negotiating skills<\/li>\n<li>Problem solving skills<\/li>\n<li>People management skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage time adequately<\/li>\n<li>Have a strong commitment to high-quality client service<\/li>\n<li>Have experience in project management and project leadership<\/li>\n<li>Be willing to travel throughout South Africa<\/li>\n<li>Speak more than one South African language<\/li>\n<li>Understands the constraints of working for a nonprofit organisation, and can be resourceful within these constraints<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit your CV,\u00a0covering letter highlighting your experience and skills relevant to the position, to Stacey-Leigh Manoek at\u00a0<strong>staceym@sweat.org.za<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.<\/p>\n<p>SWEAT reserve the right not to make an appointment.<\/p>\n<p>SWEAT conducts all appointment processes in terms of its Employment Equity Policy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Closing Date:<\/strong>\u00a015th June, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sex Worker Education and Advocacy Taskforce (SWEAT) is a dynamic non-governmental organisation that addresses the health and human rights of sex workers.
