At the same time, the General Manager will be responsible for creating sustainable income and ensure increased investment in TEARS.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and implement a strategic vision for TEARS<\/li>\n<li>Direct the organisation effectively, toward the successful achievement of its strategy<\/li>\n<li>Responsibility for the control and reduction of operational costs, and the increase in income, for continued sustainability, and according to agreed targets<\/li>\n<li>Lead the creation of an institutional culture conducive to achieving TEARS vision, our collective approach to wellbeing, empowerment and sense of urgency and pride<\/li>\n<li>Maintain an effective operational structure with supporting policies and procedures, to ensure the smooth functioning of all sections of the organisation<\/li>\n<li>Overall responsibility for the financial management of TEARS<\/li>\n<li>Manage the operational team<\/li>\n<li>Raise funds for TEARS and managing donor relationships<\/li>\n<li>Ensure governance, compliance and consistency with all TEARS policies and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Represent TEARS in a variety of forums, including in engagements with the media, government, the private sector, civil society, TEARS clients, and international and regional institutions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree or equivalent tertiary education in Business Administration with five years\u2019 relevant experience<\/li>\n<li>Proven track record in the overall management of an NPO (preferably in the animal welfare sector)<\/li>\n<li>Sound knowledge of the legislative requirements of running an NPO, inter alia Funding, Leasing of property, Labour legislation and reports, Tax and Finance<\/li>\n<li>Experience in mobilising funds from institutional\/corp and other donors<\/li>\n<li>Ability to create and implement systems to increase efficiency and facilitate processes in resource management<\/li>\n<li>Organised, with an ability to meet short and long-term responsibilities<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to plan, prioritise and execute with minimal supervision<\/li>\n<li>Interpersonal, communication, writing and presentation skills<\/li>\n<li>Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint<\/li>\n<li>Emotionally stable and resilient<\/li>\n<li>Strategic thinker, people oriented, organised, able to multitask, strong in process management and a skilled\u00a0communicator<\/li>\n<li>Experience in business and people management, finance and governance best practices is essential<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit cover letter stating role applicability and a CV (PDF or word format) that includes contact information and three references to\u00a0<strong>recruitment@tears.org.za\u00a0<\/strong>include the title of the position you are applying to in the subject line of the email<\/p>\n<p>No telephone inquiries.<\/p>\n<p>Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.<\/p>\n<p>If you have not heard from us within two weeks after the closing date please consider your application as unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong>\u00a015 June, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TEARS Animal Rescue (The Emma Animal Rescue Society) is one of the country\u2019s leading organisations in the areas of animal rescue, veterinary services, and the rehabilitation and rehoming of rescued&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1350,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[19,243],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
