Founded in 1990, IYF builds and maintains a worldwide community of businesses, governments, and civil society organizations \u2014 now spanning 73 countries \u2014 committed to empowering youth to be healthy, productive, and engaged citizens. In the past two decades, IYF has supported 472 youth-serving organizations in 134 countries, and has partnered with a wide range of corporate partners and public training systems, reaching more than 16 million young people. IYF programs are catalysts for change that help young people obtain a quality education, gain employability skills, make healthy choices, and improve their communities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Programme Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Johannesburg<\/p>\n<p>Reporting directly to IYF\u2019s Programme Director in South Africa, the Programme Officer will provide effective program, monitoring, and operational support to assigned youth skills development project(s) in South Africa, particularly those projects operated in close partnership with government and industry<\/p>\n<p>Key responsibilities of this position will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinating delivery of IYF technical assistance to project partners, including public TVET colleges and corporate clients<\/li>\n<li>Supporting delivery of project outcomes and deliverables, in accordance with approved work plans, grant agreements, and donor rules\/regulations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintaining project calendar and ensure that deadlines are met according to work plans<\/li>\n<li>Leading the implementation of performance measurement plan, and continuously strengthen project monitoring procedures<\/li>\n<li>Providing logistical and administrative support, as assigned to project staff and consultants<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring all data is collected and entered into IYF\u2019s online project monitoring system (either directly, or through assigned staff or consultants)<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring partners and consultants in their compliance with the terms and conditions of their agreements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Programme Officer\u00a0<\/strong>will have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Relevant Undergraduate degree (e.g. Education, Social Sciences, Commerce) preferred<\/li>\n<li>At least three years\u2019 experience in the NGO \/ PBO sector, ideally in the education, skills development, and\/or youth development field<\/li>\n<li>Excellent writing and communication skills, including engaging with external stakeholders, and writing donor reports<\/li>\n<li>Strong digital literacy, with the ability to rapidly learn new and champion the use of new software and online programmes<\/li>\n<li>Ability to travel nationally within the country as needed<\/li>\n<li>Driver\u2019s license and access to a personal vehicle for work purposes<\/li>\n<li>Sensitivity to and responsiveness to all project partners, donors, and colleagues<\/li>\n<li>Strong IT competency (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, online data management systems)<\/li>\n<li>Dynamic and self-motivated<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to IYF\u2019s mission<\/li>\n<li>Candidate must be able to speak in more than 2 of the SA recognised languages.<\/li>\n<li>South African Permanent Resident<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>View the full job description and application instructions on the Vacancies page at\u00a0www.actionappointments.co.za\u00a0and email your application <strong>by\u00a0Friday,22<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0June 2018\u00a0to\u00a0tracy@actionappointments.co.za<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The International Youth Foundation (IYF) invests in the extraordinary potential of young people.
