The organisation&#8217;s\u00a0strategies are designed to promote equity and efficiency in health and healthcare delivery.<\/p>\n<p>HST seeks to appoint\u00a0a\u00a0Nurse for the Fresh Project, an HIV research study combined with a poverty alleviation and women\u2019s empowerment programme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Nurse<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong> A salary package commensurate with the successful candidate\u2019s experience and qualifications will be offered<\/p>\n<p>This is a fixed-term contract position, renewable based on continuation of funding.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collect blood specimens as per the approved study sampling schedule<\/li>\n<li>Assist Professional Nurse with pelvic exam sampling, including filling forms, handling and labelling specimen tubes, and serving as quality check for accuracy before lab pick-up<\/li>\n<li>Ensure accurate specimen labelling, documentation, storage and transportation<\/li>\n<li>Ensure specimens ready on time for pick-up and transport by couriers<\/li>\n<li>Maintain thorough\/accurate documentation and record-keeping, ensuring that all forms are completed correctly<\/li>\n<li>Be available to assist Research Nurse with sampling\/documentation on Saturdays in the event of a new acute HIV infection<\/li>\n<li>Conduct screening visits including, informed consent, pregnancy test, hemoglobin test and ensure participant is eligible to join the study<\/li>\n<li>Perform finger-prick for HIV-RNA PCR (viral load) twice-weekly for all active participants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Current registration with the SANC as a Registered\/Enrolled Nurse<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of one to three years\u2019 nursing experience, within a hospital and\/or laboratory environment.<\/li>\n<li>Must have minimum one year experience performing phlebotomy<\/li>\n<li>Fluent in both English and isiZulu<\/li>\n<li>The following will be an advantage:\n<ul>\n<li>Experience providing HIV counselling and testing<\/li>\n<li>Experience in women\u2019s health<\/li>\n<li>Clinical research experience<\/li>\n<li>Licensed\/experienced driver<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Verbal and written communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Critical thinking and analytical skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong organisational and time management skills<\/li>\n<li>Maintain confidentiality of participant information<\/li>\n<li>Ability to travel to and work in Umlazi Township<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit a detailed CV stating the position applied for, together with names and contact details (telephone numbers and an e-mail address) of at least three contactable referees, to Sanele Ngubane at\u00a0<strong>hr@hst.org.za<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Shortlisted candidates will be requested to submit certified copies of all qualifications and identity documents.<\/p>\n<p>Applications received after the closing date will not be considered.<\/p>\n<p>Email users are requested to set the delivery option of their message on both \u201cReturn Receipt\u201d and \u201cConfirm Delivery\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Correspondence will be limited to shortlisted candidates.<\/p>\n<p>All shortlisted candidates will be subjected to reference and credential checks.<\/p>\n<p>If you have not been contacted within 30 days of the closing date of this advertisement, please accept that your application has been unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p>HST reserves the right to not fill this position.<\/p>\n<p>HST Promotes Employment Equity.<\/p>\n<p>People with disabilities are encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>29 June, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Health Systems Trust (HST) is an innovative nonprofit organisation working to strengthen the ongoing development of comprehensive health systems in southern Africa. \u00a0Using a primary health care approach, The Trust&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1350,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[89],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
