The organisation builds on decades of international and local experience in re-designing and re-working streets and seeks to influence public life and policy related to streets in Cape Town and South Africa more broadly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Operation Coordinator<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Cape Town<\/p>\n<p>Salary: Commensurate with experience<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the Operation Coordinator is the logistical and administrative arrangements of the defined activities.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Implement and improve the operations plan for OS Days<\/li>\n<li>Manage the event permit process for OS Days<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate logistics for other OS events and activities<\/li>\n<li>Manage relationships with service providers<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with stakeholders interested in \/ affected by Open Streets activities<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with volunteers and other actors taking part on the day<\/li>\n<li>Document meetings, plans and agreements<\/li>\n<li>Keep track of agreed budgets and ensuring payments are made on time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Passion for building an inclusive and sustainable city<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with Open Streets activities<\/li>\n<li>Organising\/event management experience<\/li>\n<li>A basic degree (Social science \/ Urban studies \/ Logistics \/ Events \/ Project management \/ Business Administration) or compensating relevant work experience<\/li>\n<li>Written and verbal communication skills in English (isiXhosa and\/or Afrikaans a bonus)<\/li>\n<li>Attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Organisational skills (creating and keeping deadlines, setting and meeting goals, decision-making, managing appointments, project-management)<\/li>\n<li>People skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure and flexibility to work in a changing environment<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft package (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)<\/li>\n<li>Right to work in South Africa<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit a detailed CV and cover letter to\u00a0<strong>marcela@openstreets.co.za<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>30th\u00a0June, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Open Streets Cape Town is both an organisation and a philosophy which seeks to change how streets are used, perceived and experienced.
