The mission for MINDS is to provide a forum for dialogue, information dissemination and networking, underpinned by rigorous research on different elements of \u201cAfricaness\u201d, in order to inform and influence policy and practice on governance, economic development and the evolution of African institutions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Interim Programme Manager<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Hyde Park, Johannesburg<br \/>\n<strong>Start date:<\/strong>\u00a0Mid July 2018 (latest)<\/p>\n<p>This is a fixed term contract for a period of 10 months<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the position is to lead in conceptualising, designing and implementing projects and activities under the four MINDS programmes on African Heritage Research, High Level Dialogues on Regional Economic Integration, Youth Programme on Elections and Governance, and the Scholarship Programme.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conceptualise and develop performance frameworks for the MINDS programmes<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement action plans for MINDS\u2019 portfolio of projects under the different programmes<\/li>\n<li>Oversee and coordinate commissioned research<\/li>\n<li>Analyse research findings and develop advocacy strategies<\/li>\n<li>Organise dialogues and workshops with relevant stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Establish synergies with relevant national, regional and international civil society organisations, governments, academics and multi-lateral bodies as necessary and relevant to MINDS\u2019 work<\/li>\n<li>Create, manage and regularly report on activities and budgets for the different programmes<\/li>\n<li>Provide written and oral briefings, speeches, op-eds and other materials as required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s degree qualification in any of the following disciplines: politics, law, development studies, pre-post-colonial African history, anthropology, sociology and related studies<\/li>\n<li>Published authorship of academic articles on issues relevant to MINDS\u2019 work<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of five years\u2019 experience working in advocacy related positions<\/li>\n<li>Fundraising experience<\/li>\n<li>High proficiency in written and oral English, with proficiency in French and\/or Portuguese an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Proven track record in management positions<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with civil society organisations and\/or government processes<\/li>\n<li>Substantial project management experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit a CV and motivation letter with salary expectation to\u00a0<strong>recruitment@minds-africa.org\u00a0<\/strong>stating \u2018MINDS Interim PM\u2019 in the subject line.<\/p>\n<p>Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.<\/p>\n<p>MINDS reserves the right not to appoint anyone for this position.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>29th June, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Mandela Institute for Development Studies (MINDS) is a continental think-tank that seeks to address the development challenges in Africa in a holistic and comprehensive manner.
