Masimanyane works to end violence against women and to advance the human rights of women and girls.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Regional Programme Manager for Africa\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0East London, South Africa<br \/>\n<strong>Report to:<\/strong> The Senior Management Team of MWRI<\/p>\n<p>At present the programme includes work in Ghana, Uganda and Mozambique, however there are plans to include other countries later in the programme.<\/p>\n<p>The successful applicant will join MWRI\u2019s current team of eight Program and Advocacy Managers working together to design and implement Masimanyane\u2019s vision, mission and programmatic work.<\/p>\n<p>The RPM will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of all programme activities and a budget of 4.5 million ZAR per year.<br \/>\nResponsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Programme management and accountability, including the development of plans to ensure that all required activities are carried out timeously and that the programme goals are reached<\/li>\n<li>Provide strategic advice, technical assistance and networking support to in-country programme officers and NGOs in participating countries<\/li>\n<li>The development of advocacy priorities and strategies directed at influencing governments, intergovernmental organisations, and human rights bodies and experts<\/li>\n<li>Provide training, support and guidance to programme staff across all four countries<\/li>\n<li>Undertake research and analysis, and preparing reports and publications, in relation to matters relevant to the programme<\/li>\n<li>Act as a spokesperson for MWRI where appropriate, including through the preparation of statements, media releases and op-eds and representing MWRI on panels and at events, nationally, regionally and internationally<\/li>\n<li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key partners and interlocutors, including NGOs, governments, intergovernmental organisations, human rights bodies and experts, journalists and funders<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with international, regional, national and local civil society organisations and activists through formal and informal coalitions<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and evaluate the implementation strategy of each partner country and reporting to the ED on possible risks and challenges<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the writing, editing and publication of Masimanyane reports on the programme and assisting partner organisations with their reports<\/li>\n<li>Assist with the preparation of donor reports including the financial reports<\/li>\n<li>Supervise and manage interns and other support staff where appropriate<\/li>\n<li>Undertake all such other tasks, including administrative and logistical tasks, as are necessary for the effective operation of a lean NGO<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A strong commitment to, and passion for, the principles and practice of gender equality and women\u2019s human rights<\/li>\n<li>A post-graduate degree in law,\u00a0or human rights, international relations or equivalent professional qualification with significant relevance to the women\u2019s rights sector<\/li>\n<li>A sound knowledge of national, international and regional women\u2019s rights issues<\/li>\n<li>At least five\u00a0years\u2019 professional experience working to influence human rights laws, policies and institutions, preferably with NGOs, intergovernmental organisations or governments<\/li>\n<li>Experience of project and programme management with significant financial and budget management responsibility<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and understanding of Rights Based Approaches and programming, including the design and implementation of successful human rights programs, campaigns and initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Experience of working across African countries and the Global South<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively, flexibly and effectively in a small, dynamic team<\/li>\n<li>The ability to think and act quickly, creatively and strategically under pressure<\/li>\n<li>Oral and written communication in English is essential<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in MS Office<\/li>\n<li>The capacity to travel regionally and international, sometimes at short notice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit your application to\u00a0<strong>vacancies@masimanyane.co.za\u00a0<\/strong>with the subject heading \u201cRegional Programme Manager (Africa)\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Due to the volume of applicants, should you not receive feedback within two weeks of the closing date please consider your application unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong> 31st July, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Established in 1996, Masimanyane Women\u2019s Rights International (MWRI) is an equality and social justice organisation which is locally rooted and globally connected.
