ASE allows disadvantaged South African youth to become world-class scholars and leaders who will transform their communities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Primary School Leader<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Port Elizabeth<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the position is to help launch a primary school that can provide world-class education at an affordable cost, using an adaptation of the existing ASE model. In the first year, the school will enroll approximately 120 young scholars in Grades R to 4. In October, the School Leader will begin meeting parents and scholars, interviewing staff, and preparing for the new school year. The school year will begin in January, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead the day-to-day functioning of the school, working with teachers, staff, and parents to assure a consistent, high-functioning learning environment<\/li>\n<li>Manage the School\u2019s discretionary budget<\/li>\n<li>Work directly with ASE founders to adapt and develop the school\u2019s academic and operating model as required<\/li>\n<li>Lead day-to-day staff development, including developing a Deputy Head into a potential School Leader role (either at this school or at a new school)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience leading constructivist learning activities (e.g. project-based, play-based, investigative learning etc.) in an early-primary context<\/li>\n<li>Experience in a leadership role in an educative environment (note that experience as a Principal of a school is not required)<\/li>\n<li>Experience working to develop other adults<\/li>\n<li>An innovative and creative outlook, comfort with experimentation, comfort pushing against the status-quo<\/li>\n<li>Comfort with the ambiguity inherent in a start-up environment<\/li>\n<li>Strong verbal and written communication skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit a CV and cover letter to\u00a0<strong>jay.kloppenberg@ase.org.za<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>1st\u00a0July, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>African School for Excellence (ASE) is a nonprofit organisation developing a unique concept: a self-sustaining network of elite independent secondary schools that anyone can afford with innovative classroom model which&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1350,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[243],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
