The organization is currently seeking qualified candidates for Community Health Worker positions based in Western Cape, City of Cape Town, Khayelitsha and Free State, Mangaung, Botshabelo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Team Leader<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Kraaifontein,\u00a0Cape Town.<\/p>\n<p>The position is\u00a0a fixed term contract position and will be responsible to assist in the implementation of the TB and HIV prevention Program.<\/p>\n<p>This position is responsible for the day to day implementation of the program activities at the community level.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duration:<\/strong> Eight\u00a0months<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist Professional Nurse in duties<\/li>\n<li>Supervise Community Health Workers;<\/li>\n<li>Conduct TB, HIV and STI testing;<\/li>\n<li>Follow up referrals at health facilities;<\/li>\n<li>Perform administrative duties of the program;<\/li>\n<li>Identify and build relationships with local health facilities and other stakeholders (traditional and community leaders, service providers etc.);<\/li>\n<li>Create awareness on TB and HIV;<\/li>\n<li>Co-facilitate training workshops aimed at building capacity for those involved in the program;<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to planning, and execution of the community based intervention;<\/li>\n<li>Keep accurate records and collect data as prescribed;<\/li>\n<li>Be willing to work flexible hours; and<\/li>\n<li>Perform other related duties as assigned and agreed upon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Matric;<\/li>\n<li>Enrolled Nurse Qualification<\/li>\n<li>Valid registration with the South African Nursing\u00a0Council (SANC);<\/li>\n<li>Three years of experience in nursing;<\/li>\n<li>Certificate or diploma on community development or related field will be added advantage;<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience working in a community based setting will be added advantage;<\/li>\n<li>Communication skills;<\/li>\n<li>Driver\u2019s License \u2013 Code 8 and be willing to drive company vehicles<\/li>\n<li>Police Clearance Certificate is essential; and<\/li>\n<li>Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel) would be advance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Knowledge, skills and abilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to work directly with variety of community stakeholders;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work directly within the community, with individuals and their families;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the TB and HIV trends in South Africa;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of clinics and other community-based resources is an added advantage;<\/li>\n<li>Interpersonal and teamwork skills;<\/li>\n<li>Written and spoken English and at least one local language; and<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit your application to\u00a0<strong>siboleke@hopeafrica.org.za\u00a0<\/strong>quoting\u00a0Team Leader: Western Cape\u00a0in the subject line.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A cover letter motivating your application<\/li>\n<li>A detailed CV (maximum three\u00a0pages)<\/li>\n<li>Copies of your qualifications<\/li>\n<li>Three\u00a0contactable references<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No late applications are accepted.<\/p>\n<p>Should you not hear from HOPE Africa within two weeks of the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p>HOPE Africa reserves the right to not make an appointment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>5th July, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HOPE Africa is a social development organisation of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa (ACSA) that works within the six (6) countries in Southern Africa.
