in seabird rehabilitation, research and oiled wildlife response and achieves this internationally recognised work through applying high veterinary standards and compassionate care.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Procurement and Inventory Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Cape Town<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the Procurement and Inventory Officer is to ensure that stock and supplies are sourced, purchased, received and managed in a controlled and responsible manner to ensure maximum savings and financial efficiency for the organisation.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Procurement:\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain procurement protocols and be responsible for the consistent updating of procurement practises<\/li>\n<li>Understand the \u201cbuying needs\u201d and \u201cbuying purpose\u201d at SANCCOB and ensure that cost-effective and efficient measures are implemented<\/li>\n<li>Understand and work within an approved budget<\/li>\n<li>Update and maintain a preferred vendor master file\/list<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that maximum discounts and savings are negotiated on all purchases<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Stock control:\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain stock control protocols with all users at SANCCOB<\/li>\n<li>Submit monthly variance reports pertaining to stock<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all shop stock, for all facilities, is duly received and accounted for on the Vend point of sale system<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the usage of supplies and stock and be responsible for identifying areas where the optimised use of supplies and stock can result in savings for SANCCOB<\/li>\n<li>Be responsible for the pro-active implementation of measures to prevent and limit wastage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Financial responsibilities:\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that all invoices comply with SANCCOB\u2019s financial SOP\u2019s and are received on time<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all invoices have the supporting documents required before approval<\/li>\n<li>Allocate expenses to the correct accounts<\/li>\n<li>Deal with financial queries related to all purchases and vendor details at SANCCOB<\/li>\n<li>Provide timely information for the annual B-BBEE verification process<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and assist with updating the fixed asset register<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the Receipt Bank and Approval Max systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Logistic support:\n<ul>\n<li>Manage SANCCOB\u2019s imports<\/li>\n<li>Provide procurement and inventory support for on-site and off-site wildlife response operations<\/li>\n<li>Ensure company vehicles are maintained and the usage is controlled according to a pre-determined budget<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure that all volunteers and interns meet SANCCOB\u2019s driving requirements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum of three years\u2019 experience in procurement, logistics and stock management<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy with Microsoft Word and Excel skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong numeric skills and attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, while maintaining an individual workload<\/li>\n<li>Logical and flexible approach to solving problems, especially when working under pressure<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and assess performance to make improvements or take corrective action<\/li>\n<li>Communication and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Tertiary qualifications in a related field and experience working in a nonprofit organisation will be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>A
