Founded in 1997, U-turn is motivated by the love that God has shown the world and having experienced His undeserved love we grace ourselves, it continues to inspire us to help individuals in need.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Occupational Therapist<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Cape Town<br \/>\n<strong>Start date:<\/strong> 1 August 2018<\/p>\n<p>This is a full-time five months\u2019 position of maternity leave, with the possibility of the position becoming permanent.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Daily OT sessions with individual clients<\/li>\n<li>OT group sessions<\/li>\n<li>Record keeping and writing of client notes<\/li>\n<li>Referral of clients to external service providers when necessary<\/li>\n<li>Conduct interviews for the vocational rehabilitation programme<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Head of Rehab with program development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Qualified Occupational Therapist, registered with the HPCSA<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Internet and Email) essential<\/li>\n<li>Driver\u2019s license (essential)<\/li>\n<li>Proven leadership and people management abilities<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience and skills in planning for, organising and managing all aspects of a rehab programme<\/li>\n<li>Well-developed analysing and decision-making skills<\/li>\n<li>Communication skills both written and non-written<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in one on one and group settings with clients and staff<\/li>\n<li>Time management and prioritisation skills and able to instruct others in such skills<\/li>\n<li>A problem solver who is open to change and innovation<\/li>\n<li>A confident decision maker and self-starter, able to take initiative<\/li>\n<li>A people motivator and patient coach who will delegate easily and follow-up effectively<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work accurately at a reasonably fast pace, under pressure<\/li>\n<li>Willing to learn and grow with the job<\/li>\n<li>An enthusiastic person who is devoted to South Africa and wants to use his or her clinical skills and experience to make a meaningful difference in South Africa<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of Occupational Therapy theory, especially pertaining to vocational rehabilitation and psychiatry (essential)<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of developmental intervention (essential)<\/li>\n<li>Understanding the Model of Creative Ability (not essential)<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of DBT (not essential)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit a motivational letter and CV to<strong>\u00a0joanne@homeless.org.za<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>4th July, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>U-turn Homeless Ministry is a thriving, Christian, nonprofit organisation based in Cape Town, South Africa.
