Research by Regional Analysts covers all SADC countries which includes: Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Comoros, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. PESA work also expands beyond SADC to include Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya and\u00a0Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>Core duties will include, but not limited to, contributing towards PESA Editorials and conducting political economy reviews across various sectors and different topics related to regional integration in SADC. PESA gives preference to\u00a0candidates\u00a0based in Gauteng.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor and conduct research\u00a0on at least three\u00a0PESA focal countries as part of PESA Economic Research agenda<\/li>\n<li>Assess political economy developments and progress toward achieving regional integration goals within the PESA focal countries<\/li>\n<li>Participate and facilitate\u00a0ad hoc public and\u00a0media engagements as part of\u00a0PESA&#8217;s Public Policy and Advocacy agenda<\/li>\n<li>Represent PESA in discussions about\u00a0SADC and Africa-wide political economy developments,\u00a0regional integration or\u00a0related topics<\/li>\n<li>Participate and facilitate in PESA special projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of two\u00a0years\u2019 experience within a development \/ economic research \/ international relations and politics \/\u00a0policy environment<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge or experience in economics, politics, international relations, development studies, history or development economics<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and experience in research or keen interest in multilateral political institutions like SADC, AU, EAC, COMESA etc<\/li>\n<li>Undergraduate degree\u00a0in economics, development studies,\u00a0international relations,\u00a0history, politics or public policy administration<\/li>\n<li>Postgraduate degree in economics, development economics or development theory and policy\u00a0will serve as an added advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit your application\u00a0online via the PESA website\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/politicaleconomy.org.za\/home\/join-pesa\/regional-analyst-vacancies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>20th July, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Political Economy Southern Africa (PESA) is a political economy think tank focused on regional integration in the South African Development Community (SADC) region and Africa more broadly.
