Its programmes support youth, women and communities to take action to improve their lives building on already existing knowledge and strengths.<\/p>\n<p>Mamelani Projects seeks to employ a\u00a0Youth Transitions Facilitator to form part of the team for our Youth Development Programme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Youth Transitions Facilitator<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Cape Town<\/p>\n<p>Youth Development Programme focuses specifically on young people who have grown up in Child and Youth Care Centres (formerly known as Children\u2019s Homes) to ensure that they are able to thrive when they leave residential care at 18. The programme offers direct support to young people transitioning from care; as well as staff from organisations and the child and youth care sector at large in developing strategies and best practices for working with this group.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Offer transitional support and mentoring to young people aged 17 to 21, who have grown up in Alternative Care especially Child and Youth Care Centres (CYCC\u2019s)<\/li>\n<li>Provide ongoing individual one-on-one mentoring and support to young people before and after they leave care<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate monthly experiential group sessions<\/li>\n<li>Plan, facilitate and evaluate wilderness processes and camps<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate practical support, assisting young people to access further education, accommodation, skills training and job placement, supporting a successful transition from Alternative Care &#8211; Child and Youth Care Centres<\/li>\n<li>Advocate for improved services and practices that support young people transitioning from Alternative Care<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain relationships young people, strengthening their resilience and internal resources<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain relationships with staff at Child and Youth Care Centres and appropriate stakeholders in the Sector<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Female candidate over 25 and minimum of five years\u2019 experience in working with young people<\/li>\n<li>Qualification in Youth Development or Community Development or relevant counselling\/mentoring\/coaching experience essential<\/li>\n<li>Ability to develop meaningful relationships with diverse young people, colleagues and key stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience in facilitating group processes<\/li>\n<li>Ability to effectively network and build relationships with young people and essential resources in the community<\/li>\n<li>Preferably multilingual, must be proficient in English<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy and confident in Microsoft Office applications (incl.
