The organisation exists to reduce inequality in South Africa, and its track record of matric results, access to post-school opportunities, and alumni success is proof that positive change is possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Branch Assistant<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Nyanga, Cape Town<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong> R6 890 per month<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the position is to play a pivotal role in a by-youth for-youth educational movement that empowers young people to take their futures into their own hands.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Communication and logistics for daily activities, programme delivery and events organisation and communication skills)<\/li>\n<li>Personally taking attendance at every homework and tutoring session and ensuring that learners&#8217; attendance improves (Reliability, commitment and good rapport with learners)<\/li>\n<li>Organise meetings and compile minutes (Good writing skills)<\/li>\n<li>Data capture and File (Attention to detail)<\/li>\n<li>Collect school reports and entering data into database (Consistently ensuring that reports are collected, filed and that data is captured)<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with volunteers and learners through email, phone and bulk sms<\/li>\n<li>Assist with general administration and providing assistance to the branch coordinator (Ability to identify needs, take initiative and be a reliable team member)<\/li>\n<li>Assist with general lab duties such as printing, photocopying and ensures proper usage and maintenance of the environment. (Computer skills and organisation)<\/li>\n<li>Teach Computer Literacy to learners after school using a simple curriculum provided by IkamvaYouth\u00a0(Computer literacy skills, tutoring\/presenting\/teaching experience and ability)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A degree or a post-matric qualification<\/li>\n<li>Highly entrepreneurial outlook and can-do attitude<\/li>\n<li>Organised and efficient;<\/li>\n<li>Impeccable time management skills, data collection and reporting must be accurate and timely<\/li>\n<li>Passion for working with young people and a pro-active energy<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work alone and take initiative<\/li>\n<li>Adept at using computers (Microsoft Office, social media and internet)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work virtually (many discussions, meetings and document development occur collaboratively online)<\/li>\n<li>As an organisation that supports community development, the preferred candidate would be South African and ideally reside in the WC Province<\/li>\n<li>Must be passionate about the power of education to transform lives and communities, and want to make a difference<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply submit their CV and a cover letter to\u00a0<strong>careers@ikamvayouth.org\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong> with the subject heading \u201cNyanga BA\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Due to the volume of applicants, should you not receive feedback within two weeks please consider your application unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>10th July, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IkamvaYouth is a township-based volunteer programme that gets learners out of poverty through education.
