The Trust has faith in young people and seek to raise up urban heroes who will become godly leaders in their families and communities for generations to come.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Mission Director<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Cape Town<\/p>\n<p>The Missions Director will oversee the Creative Mission department, one of our three key strategic areas in The Message Trust.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Leadership and Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with the Executive Team in strategic planning for the mission<\/li>\n<li>To line manage our team leaders and project managers within the Missions department, ensuring that they operate efficiently and flexibly, and are focused upon meeting their goals<\/li>\n<li>Develop and utilise relevant reporting systems, and use these to ensure ongoing high-quality performance in all areas<\/li>\n<li>Work with Message Media to commission relevant marketing and communications, including websites, print work, press articles, and related tasks<\/li>\n<li>Utilise HR systems of goal-setting, one-to-one supervisions and staff appraisals, and encouraging team leaders to gain relevant new skills and experience<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the general development of a healthy organisational culture within the Message Trust<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>New Project Development<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mobilise mission towards Higher Tour Cape Town &#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/highertour.com\/\">https:\/\/highertour.com<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Oversee the implementation of our Message Academy &#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/academy.message.org.uk\/\">http:\/\/academy.message.org.uk<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Financial responsibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0In consultation with the finance department, establish and maintain effective and efficient systems of accounting, financial and other management controls within the areas of the post-holder\u2019s own remit, and to contribute to a team-based approach on other aspects of The Message Trust\u2019s overall activity<\/li>\n<li>Seek out and secure funding opportunities consistent with the goals of the Missions department<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Performance Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee the performance of the Missions team, ensuring systems are in place for monitoring performance and taking timely corrective action whenever necessary<\/li>\n<li>Oversee training initiatives for the development of staff and volunteers within the Missions team with a view to long-term retention of existing staff and attracting new team members<\/li>\n<li>Actively engage in own personal development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other Expectations<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Submit monthly written report to Message SA Exec<\/li>\n<li>Attend Executive team meetings<\/li>\n<li>Attend prayer days in Message HQ on a monthly basis<\/li>\n<li>Regular line management meetings with the Chief Executive Officer<\/li>\n<li>Increase the support base of Message across Cape Town, both in prayer supporters and financial supporters<\/li>\n<li>Participate in Message Sunday\u2019s \u2013 sharing stories of gospel transformation<\/li>\n<li>Network with other mission ministries in the Cape Town<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Clear strategic vision<\/li>\n<li>Energy and business acumen, innovation and entrepreneurial skills<\/li>\n<li>Open and sharing approach to collaborating with the Executive Team<\/li>\n<li>Leadership, team-building, motivational and staff management skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to balance financial and non-financial objectives, analyse information, make sound judgements, appraise performance and manage risk<\/li>\n<li>Networking, influencing\/promotional and negotiating skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to develop and sustain public and voluntary sector partnerships<\/li>\n<li>Strong self-motivation<\/li>\n<li>A \u201chands-on\u201d attitude, able to roll-up sleeves and pitch-in with practical task delivery<\/li>\n<li>Successful management track record including change and innovation<\/li>\n<li>Personal commitment<\/li>\n<li>Identification with the Trust\u2019s Statement of Values and Ethos.<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to Child Protection, Equality and Diversity, and Health and Safety<\/li>\n<li>Personal integrity and commitment to working as part of a team<\/li>\n<li>The post-holder will be expected to enter fully into The Message Trust team life, including morning prayers, monthly prayer days and evening prayer meetings<\/li>\n<li>Be experienced in the creative arts and working with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds<\/li>\n<li>Passionate about sharing the Christian faith with youth
