SFL has developed a unique set of\u00a0programmes and workshops that we are currently running in 88 High Schools in\u00a0South Africa and Namibia to add value to the regular Life Orientation curriculum.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Life Skills Coach<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:<\/strong>\u00a0UMkhanyakude, KwaZulu-Natal<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Implement a prescribed set of SFL workshops, classroom sessions and individual psychosocial counselling sessions that are designed to build the self-esteem of learners in line with the SFL \u2018Theory of Change\u2019<\/li>\n<li>Discuss HIV risks, rejects myths about HIV transmission with young people in schools<\/li>\n<li>Encourage safer sex strategies<\/li>\n<li>Discuss and link to locally available HIV counselling and testing services available<\/li>\n<li>Work with the parents and community to raise awareness about HIV risks for youth and improve adult-child communication about sexuality<\/li>\n<li>Educate on voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC), HIV care and treatment ad TB testing and treatment<\/li>\n<li>Promote condoms: how to use, negotiate, where to get them, and improve access<\/li>\n<li>Discuss harmful norms relate to sex and gender, reduce stigma and discrimination associated to HIV<\/li>\n<li>Prevent gender-based violence, promote gender equality<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic degree in Psychology or Social Science degree with psychology as a major<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of two years&#8217; experience in similar work<\/li>\n<li>Communication skills and be willing and able to conduct oneself as an integral member of the Star for Life team<\/li>\n<li>Time management skills to meet deadlines, self-driven, working with\u00a0minimal supervision, paying attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Strong values and principles<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate a positive and friendly attitude<\/li>\n<li>Report writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Valid code B Driver\u2019s license<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit a CV, relevant qualifications and motivation letter to\u00a0<strong>sharon@starforlife.co.za<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>or<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0thandeka@starforlife.co.za\u00a0<\/strong>or Fax (035) 7531209<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong> 13th July, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Star for Life (SFL) is a nonprofit organisation with the mission to inspire young\u00a0people to value learning, acquire the knowledge and skills they need for productive\u00a0work, and live healthy and&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1350,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[243],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
