Through social facilitation and technical support, CORC assists linking up informal settlements and civil society to the local government.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Savings Support Coordinators<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Johannesburg<br \/>\n<strong>Reference:<\/strong> 010718<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the position is to provide technical support to the Federation and Informal Settlement Network for communities in upgrading, housing and livelihood projects.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate projects with technical support from the Corc Cape Town Office<\/li>\n<li>Render support through attendance of meetings with various stakeholders such as government, local leadership structures and other community based organisation structures<\/li>\n<li>Render support to FEDUP savings<\/li>\n<li>Support communities around informal settlement upgrading initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate community data collection activities (Profiling and enumeration)<\/li>\n<li>Conduct data collection training workshops to Fedup and ISN members<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Project Officer with data analysis and compilation of project reports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Valid driver\u2019s license essential<\/li>\n<li>Networking with other organisations and government departments<\/li>\n<li>Worked within informal settlements<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in Windows, Word, Excel and Data Capturing<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in at least one statistics software; STATA, SPSS<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of GIS<\/li>\n<li>Degree\/diploma in social sciences<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in Xhosa, Tswana, English and Zulu<\/li>\n<li>Report writing skills and be fully computer literate<\/li>\n<li>Ability to give attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Organising and coordination qualities with strong communication and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Negotiating skills, Ability to work independently, self-motivated and resourceful<\/li>\n<li>Ability to multi-task, Able to operate successfully under tight deadlines and time pressures<\/li>\n<li>Build and maintain and retain relationships<\/li>\n<li>Must be willing to work flexible hours within the communities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit your CV and a one-page motivational letter\u00a0to\u00a0<strong>finance@corc.co.za\u00a0<\/strong>quote\u00a0ref number and Job being applied for in the subject line.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong> 17th July, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Community Organisation Resource Centre (CORC) is a nonprofit organisation\u00a0working in informal settlements supporting communities to improve their built environment.
