{"id":41674,"date":"2018-07-17T10:50:13","date_gmt":"2018-07-17T08:50:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=41674"},"modified":"2018-07-17T10:57:56","modified_gmt":"2018-07-17T08:57:56","slug":"solidarity-center-south-africa-new-ongoing-recruitment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/solidarity-center-south-africa-new-ongoing-recruitment.html","title":{"rendered":"Solidarity Center South Africa New Ongoing Recruitment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Solidarity Center, an International NGO focused on labor and worker rights issues, is seeking candidates for Part-time Project Coordinator for the Sub -Saharan Africa Office.\u00a0 The Part-time Project Coordinator\u00a0works under the direct supervision of the Senior Program Officer based in Washington DC.\u00a0The Part-time Project Coordinator will be responsible for working closely with trade union partners on three countries to develop and implement national strategic plans including: coordinating activities in each country, creating detailed activity and program reports, creating program schedules monitoring progress and budget, remaining abreast of in-country developments relating to illicit financial flows and developing partnerships between trade unions and civil society organizations. The successful candidate must have experience in community organizing\/ movement-building, and knowledge of policy advocacy and development.<\/p>\n<p><strong> Job Title:\u00a0Part-time Project Coordinator\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Preferably based in Johannesburg or Harare but must be able and willing to travel frequently within Sub- Saharan Africa.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to conduct extensive research to inform strategic planning<\/li>\n<li>Organizing experience with an ability to support campaign strategy<\/li>\n<li>Have background in movement \u2013building, community organizing with an emphasis on coalition building, and policy advocacy<\/li>\n<li>3 -5 years of program development and implementation experience<\/li>\n<li>Must have clear understanding of Civil Society Sector, including trade union and labor organizations in Sub- Saharan Africa<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of policy development and advocacy in extractives and mining sectors<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team<\/li>\n<li>Excellent project management skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent research, writing and communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to travel<\/li>\n<li>Africa regional experience is preferred<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, please send a cover letter, detailed CV, three references and one English writing samples.
