CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation is one of the leading and most diverse international civil society networks, with members and partners in more than 100 countries and a staff of 35 people from over 20 countries. CIVICUS implements a range of programmatic activities focusing on strengthening civil society and its role in governance and development worldwide. It also serves as a convener of global civil society leaders through its annual World Assembly.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Resilient Roots initiative is testing whether organisations who are more accountable and responsive to their roots – namely, their primary constituencies are more resilient against external threats. To do so, CIVICUS is joining forces with civil society organisations in various countries to design and rollout innovative accountability experiments over an 18-month period. These experiments will explore the factors which increase public support and trust in organisations, in order to identify different pathways to greater, longer-lasting efficacy and legitimacy.<\/p>\n
