CIVICUS implements a range of programmatic activities focusing on strengthening civil society and its role in governance and development worldwide. It also serves as a convener of global civil society leaders through its annual World Assembly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Resilient Roots Intern<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>London<br \/>\n<strong>Start date:<\/strong> 6 August or as soon as possible<br \/>\n<strong>Duration:<\/strong>\u00a0Three months, full time<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong> \u00a31,530 per month<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Resilient Roots initiative is testing whether organisations who are more accountable and responsive to their roots &#8211; namely, their primary constituencies are more resilient against external threats. To do so, CIVICUS is joining forces with civil society organisations in various countries to design and rollout innovative accountability experiments over an 18-month period. These experiments will explore the factors which increase public support and trust in organisations, in order to identify different pathways to greater, longer-lasting efficacy and legitimacy.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support various aspects of programmatic, research, communications and administrative functions of CIVICUS\u2019 Innovation Stream, whose mission is to empower a more accountable, effective and innovative civil society. This will involve working across a variety of programmes, and the Resilient Roots initiative in particular<\/li>\n<li>Under the guidance of the Coordinator, Resilient Roots, additionally assist with activities such as stakeholder mapping and outreach, identifying and engaging project partners, research into civil society organisations\u2019 constituent-driven accountability and resilience, collating and summarising learnings from the initiative, and workstream management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in a related field of study, including international relations, sustainable development, human rights, public policy, and\/or others, with relevant work experience<\/li>\n<li>Strong interest in working in non-profit organisations, charitable networks, and\/or public service institutions<\/li>\n<li>Available for work in London<\/li>\n<li>Prior internship in nonprofit organisations and\/or international settings beneficial but not required<\/li>\n<li>Fluent in English<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in other languages, particularly UN languages, helpful<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of civil society and the broader sustainable\/international development sector<\/li>\n<li>Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google software<\/li>\n<li>Experience in research, activity management, and communications and outreach, helpful<\/li>\n<li>Self-starter willing to take initiative with attention to detail and not inspired by problem solving<\/li>\n<li>Interpersonal and networking skills, especially working with multi-country, multi-time zoned teams<\/li>\n<li>Agility and ability to \u2018roll with the punches\u2019<\/li>\n<li>Passion and deep interest in technology and tech tools, Digital native characteristics are very helpful<\/li>\n<li>Deadline driven, with ability to multi-task, especially on the part of job description that says: \u2018and other tasks as assigned\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit a motivational letter (no longer than one page A4) and CV with contact details of three current referees to\u00a0<strong>jobs@civicus.org<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.<\/p>\n<p>Should you not have heard from us within three weeks after your application, please consider your application as being unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline: <\/strong>26th July, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation is one of the leading and most diverse international civil society networks, with members and partners in more than 100 countries and a staff&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1350,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[326],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
