{"id":41751,"date":"2018-07-20T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-07-20T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=41751"},"modified":"2018-07-19T13:20:13","modified_gmt":"2018-07-19T11:20:13","slug":"muscular-dystrophy-foundation-cape-branch-mdfc-new-position","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/muscular-dystrophy-foundation-cape-branch-mdfc-new-position.html","title":{"rendered":"Muscular Dystrophy Foundation Cape Branch (MDFC) New Position"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Muscular Dystrophy Foundation Cape Branch (MDFC) is a NGO providing services and support to persons young and old affected by MD and neuromuscular disorders.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Social Auxiliary Worker<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Goodwood, Western Cape<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong> R6 751 monthly<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with the intake of new referrals<\/li>\n<li>Collect information relevant to members\u2019 needs and assessing their relevant skills, strengths and deficits<\/li>\n<li>Assist members to identify options and develop plans of action while providing necessary support and assistance<\/li>\n<li>Conduct follow-ups with new and existing members telephonically and by way of home visits<\/li>\n<li>Assist members to identify and access community resources including medical, financial assistance, housing, employment, transportation and other referral services<\/li>\n<li>Assist with facilitation of Adults and Children\u2019s Support Groups<\/li>\n<li>Assist with community awareness campaigns<\/li>\n<li>Assist with monitoring and reporting on clients&#8217; progress<\/li>\n<li>Maintain contact with other social service agencies, schools and health care providers involved with clients to provide information and obtain feedback on clients&#8217; overall situation and progress<\/li>\n<li>All other duties assigned by management, this may include assisting in our bargain shop<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) in Social Auxiliary Work for one year or a two or three years\u2019 diploma in Social Work<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of two to three years\u2019 relevant experience post qualification<\/li>\n<li>Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP)<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy<\/li>\n<li>Report writing and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Administrative skills<\/li>\n<li>Fluent in writing and speaking both English\/Afrikaans essential plus one African language would be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Saturday work is a requirement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit a two page CV and a motivational letter, to the General Manager, Vanessa Jordaan at\u00a0<strong>capemanager@mdsa.org.za<\/strong>\u00a0or fax to 0865351387<\/p>\n<p>Enquiries: (021) 592 7306<\/p>\n<p>Only apply if you live close to Goodwood in Cape Town.<\/p>\n<p>Only applicants that fit the above-mentioned criteria will be considered.<\/p>\n<p>Should you not hear from us within two weeks after the closing date, please consider your application as unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p>MDFC reserves the right not to make an appointment on all shortlisted candidates.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>24th July, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Muscular Dystrophy Foundation Cape Branch (MDFC) is a NGO providing services and support to persons young and old affected by MD and neuromuscular disorders.
