It provides a range of primary preventive services for parents and caregivers seeking the support\u00a0and help they need before problems in their parent\/caregiver-child relationship or child\u2019s\u00a0behaviour\u00a0becomes entrenched.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Social Worker<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Cape Town<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate and supervise programmes in the Mitchell\u2019s Plain area<\/li>\n<li>Supervise, support and train all Parent Support Group Facilitators<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate training and parenting workshops and groups in English and Afrikaans<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Individual Counselling in English and Afrikaans in Mitchell\u2019s Plain and other areas, as required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Registered with SACSSP and have SAPS clearance<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of five years\u2019 working experience in the social work field, with a proven track record, particularly counselling and facilitation, working in communities of the Western Cape<\/li>\n<li>Strong leadership and interpersonal\u00a0qualities with a friendly disposition<\/li>\n<li>Work ethic<\/li>\n<li>Compile monthly and quarterly statistics (or as required) and writing reports<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy in Microsoft Office<\/li>\n<li>A valid driver\u2019s license<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of The Children\u2019s Act will be advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Experience in working with support groups will be advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Parenting experience will be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences<\/li>\n<li>A professional demeanor<\/li>\n<li>The ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion<\/li>\n<li>Be fluent in English and Afrikaans and has for than 5years social work experience working with communities of the Western Cape.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit CV to \u00a0<strong>paces@theparentcentre.org.za\u00a0<\/strong>or fax to 021 762 5160<\/p>\n<p>Candidates who have not received a response within three weeks of the closing date are kindly requested to assume that their application has not been successful in this instance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Applicaton Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>10th August, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Parent Centre is a registered nonprofit organisation which has been operating\u00a0successfully in the challenging South African context for the past 30 years.
