Save the Children South Africa (SCSA) is implementing a programme that seeks to ensure that all children benefit from a strengthened child \u2013 rights system that delivers and monitor the realisation of their rights, and ensure that children experience less violence in schools, homes and communities. The programme also aims to support children to influence Local, Provincial and National Governance to ensure their survival, learning and protection.<\/p>\n

Through this programme, SCSA intends to push for increased public investment in children and reduction of violence against children in both school and home settings.<\/p>\n

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:\u00a0<\/strong>
\nLevel 3:\u00a0 the role holder will have contact with children and\/or young people\u00a0either<\/u><\/em>\u00a0frequently (e.g. once a week or more)\u00a0or<\/u>\u00a0intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country programs; or are visiting country programs; ore because they are responsible for implementing the police checking\/vetting process staff.<\/p>\n

JOB PURPOSE:<\/strong>
\nThe Advocacy Manager is responsible for developing and driving the implementation of an effective influencing strategy and tactics for Save the Children\u2019s priority campaign, working closely with colleagues in members, and regional and country offices.<\/p>\n

The overall responsibility of the Advocacy Manager is to lead and coordinate SCSA\u2019s local to global advocacy agenda. He\/she will be responsible to advocate and communicate on child rights issues domestically, regionally and globally with a particular focus on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Violence against Children, Children on the Move and follow \u2013 ups on concluding observations from the treaty bodies. In consultation with the CEO\u2019s Office, Programmes Director, Child Rights Governance and Child Protection Thematic Leads, he\/she will set SCSA\u2019s annual local to global advocacy goals and targets for relevant policy influence and change.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, he\/she will provide advocacy support and guidance to provincial offices.\u00a0 With the support of the Regional and Global Advocacy Offices, s\/he will identify opportunities and platforms at regional and global level to amplify the voices of children, particularly a girl child. He\/she will work under the supervision of the Programmes Director, and in close collaboration with the CEO\u2019s office, CRG and CPP Thematic Lead.<\/p>\n
