Amandla facilitates the Philippi Collective Network, a cross-sector group that fosters a community-driven, collective impact approach to improving learner wellbeing and education outcomes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Data Coordinator<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Cape Town.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the position is to manage data collection, field worker training and monitoring, and developing the capacity of our working groups to craft evidence-based interventions to tear down barriers to learning in Philippi.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Report to the Project Manager and supervise site data collection processes<\/li>\n<li>Develop solutions for data collection, capture, and use in our community reporting activities<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate forum meetings at which data on child welfare is explained in layman\u2019s terms to community members and stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Support and train stakeholders to collect and use data for decision making<\/li>\n<li>Train fieldworkers in various data collection exercises such as surveys<\/li>\n<li>Write reports<\/li>\n<li>Individual research and leading some research processes<\/li>\n<li>Integrate technology into our work<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the development of Amandla\u2019s shared measures system within the network<\/li>\n<li>Think creatively about data management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum two years in a Monitoring and Evaluation or similar role<\/li>\n<li>Two years of\u00a0experience in project management, including developing implementation timelines<\/li>\n<li>Extensive demonstrated experience with survey system Kobo Collect, or similar<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of the ethics of conducting studies with people<\/li>\n<li>Experience working in a township setting<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English a must and fluency in isiXhosa a major plus<\/li>\n<li>Experience in community development<\/li>\n<li>A valid driver&#8217;s license<\/li>\n<li>Written and oral communication and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience with statistical software and data management systems<\/li>\n<li>Interest in education and community development<\/li>\n<li>Flexible and a team player<\/li>\n<li>Ability and willingness to multitask and meet\u00a0shifting deadlines consistently<\/li>\n<li>Motivated and energetic<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently or without direct supervision<\/li>\n<li>Problem-solving abilities<\/li>\n<li>Basic financial management<\/li>\n<li>Highly-valued pluses: Experience with ArcGIS, data cleaning skills<\/li>\n<li>An interest in the intersections of health and education will be highly valued<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit a CV, (maximum two pages), your most recent salary,\u00a0and a one-page motivational letter outlining your experience with Monitoring and Evaluation, including which methodologies and software you have worked with to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:info@amandladev.org\">info@amandladev.org<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0with Data Coordinator in the subject line<\/p>\n<p>Any applications not including all\u00a0requested\u00a0information in the requested formats\u00a0will\u00a0not\u00a0be considered.<\/p>\n<p>Please no phone queries.<\/p>\n<p>Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>27 August, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amandla Development is a nonprofit organisation that works to empower South African youth with equal access to quality education opportunities.
