Through a combination of interventions, we on average, assist between 16 000 to 20 000 beneficiaries a year. GBT core focus is to remove the obstacles and barriers that prevent children from finding their light and helping them to Shine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Female Nurse<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Cape Town<\/p>\n<p>This is a Half day position.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the Female Nurse to handle the Health and Safety of the Youth in care at the organisations Macassar Campus and Cape Family Homes. It involves offering consultation to youth on their medical wellbeing, as well as the administering of prescribed and other medication, training and education on basic Principles of Healthcare and Personal Hygiene, and assistance to the Campus in cases of medical emergencies. Act as an intercessor with external Medical Practitioners.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assessment and some counselling of challenging\u00a0Youth<\/li>\n<li>Drug testing<\/li>\n<li>Group work<\/li>\n<li>Report writing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Bachelor&#8217;s Degree or Diploma in Nursing<\/li>\n<li>Registration with the Nursing Council (SANC) and a dispensing license<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of three years\u2019 experience in the Nursing field as a generalist<\/li>\n<li>Bilingualism (an indigenous third language will be advantageous)<\/li>\n<li>Code 08 drivers\u2019 license<\/li>\n<li>Access to own transport will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Available to work flexi hours<\/li>\n<li>Should be able to work independently as well as part of a team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit if you meet our requirements, submit your CV to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:rpetersen@gbtown.org.za\">rpetersen@gbtown.org.za<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Only Shortlisted applicants who meet requirements will be contacted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>6th September, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Established in 1958, Girls and Boys Town (GBT) is a national nonprofit organisation that runs proven and successful programmers to strengthen vulnerable youth.
