In addition to providing procurement and logistical support, the incumbent will be required to coordinate procurement activities for all the projects in the province and monitoring internal procurement systems.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Procurement Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Fixed Term:\u00a0<\/strong>12 months fixed term contract<br \/>\n<strong>Grade:\u00a0<\/strong>3<br \/>\n<strong>Reports directly to:\u00a0<\/strong>Procurement Manager (Pretoria)<br \/>\n<strong>Reports indirectly\u00a0to:\u00a0<\/strong>Support Services Manager<br \/>\n<strong>Base\/ Location:<\/strong> Free State Provincial Office (QwaQwa)<br \/>\n<strong>Child Protection Level:\u00a0<\/strong>2<br \/>\n<strong>Travel Requirements:\u00a0<\/strong>Limited<br \/>\n<strong>Budget Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/strong>None<br \/>\n<strong>Asset Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/strong>Laptop<\/p>\n<p>The Procurement Officer will be managed, on a day to day functional basis, by the Free State Support Services Manager and will be based in QwaQwa, Phuthaditjaba.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assisting in assessing available budget prior to procuring goods and services.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for obtaining quotations from suppliers in line with SCSA policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Making travel, accommodation and flight bookings to support project staff.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for the preparation and accurate processing of purchase orders and goods received notes in Agresso.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for attending to queries from staff and vendors with reference to purchase orders.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for investigating qualitative and quantitative discrepancies between goods ordered and goods received.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring invoices are received timely from suppliers.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for timely submission of final invoices to the Finance and Accounts Department for payment.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor internal procurement systems and processes and ensure that compliance is achieved across the organisation.<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining good relationships with suppliers.<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining the supplier data base.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Conduct all other project related responsibilities as may be required and supported by your superior\/s.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Matric or similar qualification<\/li>\n<li>Basic understanding of Accounting and Financial procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Diploma in Procurement, Supply chain or Purchasing will be an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>At least 3 years\u2019 experience in a procurement environment.
