DPSA is recognised as the national assembly of disabled people by Disabled People International (DPI), which has observer status in the United Nations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Provincial Development Coordinator<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Western Cape<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Project management<\/li>\n<li>Budget development and management<\/li>\n<li>Manage project staff<\/li>\n<li>Membership development and recruitment<\/li>\n<li>Funder liaison<\/li>\n<li>Project proposal development and fundraising<\/li>\n<li>Disability research and development<\/li>\n<li>Project report writing<\/li>\n<li>Train and capacity building<\/li>\n<li>Engage with local, provincial and national government on disability policy development and implementation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of a Grade 12 Certificate<\/li>\n<li>Recognition of Prior Learning within the field of Development and Disability<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of two years proven experience in a similar position<\/li>\n<li>Suitable candidates with disabilities will get first preference<\/li>\n<li>In-depth knowledge and understanding of NGO\u2019s planning, development and advocacy<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and in a team and able to forge relationships with partners and funders<\/li>\n<li>Communication (written and verbal) skills and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of disability issues and the disability environment<\/li>\n<li>Minimum two years\u2019 experience in development, lobbying and advocacy<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines;<\/li>\n<li>Computer skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience of working for an NGO at similar position preferred;<\/li>\n<li>Driver\u2019s license would be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Report writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong passion for development of people with disabilities<\/li>\n<li>Strong background on disability activism<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit your CV (not longer than four pages) together with certified copies of your professional qualifications to the\u00a0National Programmes Manager, Ms. Gillian Moses to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:gillian@dpsa.org.za\">gillian@dpsa.org.za<\/a><\/strong>, or Fax:\u00a0086 547 5880.
