The Organisation launched our flagship school, Streetlight Jeppe Park Primary, in inner-city Johannesburg in January 2016. Since then Streetlight Schools have developed a strong school culture for learners to help them feel safe, healthy, happy, and loved.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Communications Manager<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Johannesburg<br \/>\n<strong>Report to:<\/strong> CEO \/ COO<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and implement a communications and reporting strategy for Streetlight Schools<\/li>\n<li>Ensure effective communications, visibility and knowledge management between Streetlight Schools and its stakeholders, including and especially institutional funders and individual donors and champions<\/li>\n<li>Maintain reliable data of funders, sponsors, and our internal and external audience by documenting, analysing and using appropriate communications channels for each<\/li>\n<li>Develop communications material for Streetlight Schools\u2019 programmes, events and projects<\/li>\n<li>Provide thorough progress reporting of achievements; facilitate project review, evaluation, and audits<\/li>\n<li>Develop and manage a consistent communication and reporting schedule based on relevant timelines for all stakeholders (e.g quarterly newsletters, website updates, social media posts when required)<\/li>\n<li>Plan and lead creative events to support fundraising initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Support central team staff in organising and managing seminars, workshops, press conferences and site visits as required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Relevant Degree \/ Diploma in related fields like PR, marketing, communications, journalism, or English<\/li>\n<li>Two to three years of experience in a related field, preferably in nonprofit organisations<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity and experience in Public Relations, communications and reporting<\/li>\n<li>Be familiar with or are passionate about fundraising for nonprofit causes in disadvantaged communities<\/li>\n<li>Experience in communication and reporting strategies and techniques, reporting, documentation, publication, and audio-visual material preparation in relation to conservation and development fields<\/li>\n<li>A track record of delivering astonishing results, and can prioritise and drive all activities toward increasing the funding available to pursue the organisational vision and mission<\/li>\n<li>Ability to expand organisational capacity by establishing routines and systems, creating operational efficiencies, and working with teammates and \/ or contractors<\/li>\n<li>Creative and can tell an organisation\u2019s story through communication initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Writing, editing, and speaking skills in English<\/li>\n<li>Be well versed in the latest electronic publishing and graphics methods<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and G Suite)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to demonstrate a high level of motivation and good communication, social, and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to adjust and keep to dates with the latest trends in communications and strive to always be a step ahead<\/li>\n<li>Ability to adjust to the constantly changing nature of your job in a growing organisation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">To apply, submit your CV and cover letter to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:jabu@streetlightschools.org\">jobs@streetlightschools.org<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and put the job title as the subject line<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>18th September, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Streetlight Schools aims to change the conversation around education globally by running inspiring, affordable schools in disadvantaged communities.
