For over 90 years we have proactively engaged with the challenges and opportunities presented by our country\u2019s unique natural heritage and the social and economic systems that depend on it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Project Manager for\u00a0the Water and Energy Pillar of the WESSA Schools Programme<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>WESSA Bryanston Office, Johannesburg<\/p>\n<p><strong>Salary:<\/strong> To be discussed<\/p>\n<p><strong>Report to:<\/strong> Programme Manager<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this position is to directly manage the implementation of a funded project in the energy and water field.<\/p>\n<p>The focus of the WESSA Schools Programme is to reach people at grass roots level by\u00a0focusing specifically on\u00a0environmental\u00a0learning and support at schools and which contribute to community development.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide mentoring support to schools and communities within the requirements of our School Programmes\u00a0and with an advanced knowledge and experience of energy \/ renewable energy and water projects<\/li>\n<li>Develop and facilitate teacher capacity building workshops on renewable energy small-scale installations at school and community level<\/li>\n<li>Monthly and bi-annual reporting to management and funders<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Programme Manager and General Manager to identify potential funders and develop proposals<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate financial and budgetary controls as related to the programme<\/li>\n<li>Execute any further deliverables required from the specific projects (in particular Water and Energy projects)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Three years\u2019 tertiary qualification in environmental science or renewable energy, and a qualification in Education would be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of environment and education, with advanced skill in renewable energy small-scale installations<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to travel distances to support some funded projects<\/li>\n<li>Previous work experience in capacity building and skills training<\/li>\n<li>Strong facilitation and organisational skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to build and maintain professional relationships<\/li>\n<li>Verbal and written communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Key personal skills: initiative, self-motivation and self-management<\/li>\n<li>Ability to interact confidently with external stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft Office Skills<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English and at least one other South African language<\/li>\n<li>Perform risk management to minimize project risks<\/li>\n<li>Valid driver\u2019s license and own car is essential<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, Submit your application to Chanelle Ramphaul, Human Resources Officer, via email to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:applications@wessa.co.za\"><strong>applications@wessa.co.za<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>WESSA is committed to equality, employment equity, and diversity.<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with the employment equity plan of WESSA and its employment equity goals and targets, preference may be given, but is not limited, to candidates from under-represented designated groups.<\/p>\n<p>WESSA reserves the right not to make an appointment to the posts as advertised.
