The home is a registered NPO, partially funded by the Department of Health. The facility offers\u00a0nursing and rehab and palliative care for up to 180 children.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Medical Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Cape Town<\/p>\n<p>This is a part time position of two hours per day, five days a week.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in weekly admissions meetings<\/li>\n<li>Daily ward rounds with sister on duty<\/li>\n<li>See specific cases<\/li>\n<li>Support for the Rehabilitation team<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with the hospital paediatric teams, as needed as well as with the outreach registrars\n<ul>\n<li>Follow up appointments<\/li>\n<li>Reviewing Medical plans for the child<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with Family physician at Bishop Lavis CHC<\/li>\n<li>Medication and scripts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0General paediatrics (advising on common health problems in all children),<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Long term health conditions and palliative care<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Neurodevelopmental paediatrics<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Interpersonal skills (for liaison purposes and team work)<\/li>\n<li>Hospital environment experience<\/li>\n<li>Experience in the public health sector<\/li>\n<li>Be on call for emergencies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit\u00a0your applications to<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:hr@stjosephshome.org.za\">hr@stjosephshome.org.za<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>26th September, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>St Joseph\u2019s home is a 24-hour intermediate care pediatric facility catering for children from 0 to 18 years.
