The Trust has faith in young people and seek to raise up urban heroes who will become godly leaders in their families and communities for generations to come.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Satellite Worker<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Cape Town<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the position is to oversee Message mission outreach in the Paarl Valley.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facilitate our Message Enterprise Programme (MEP) in Drakenstein youth prison<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate MEP reintegration programmes and workshops in prisons in the Paarl Valley<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate school\u2019s programmes in partnership with Valcare members and local churches<\/li>\n<li>Raise up volunteers and a support team to assist in mission\u2019s delivery<\/li>\n<li>Be available to represent The Message Trust at network meetings relevant to mission\u2019s delivery in the Paarl Valley<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Financial responsibility<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Help raise finance and awareness to support missions work in the Paarl Valley<\/li>\n<li>Seek out and secure funding opportunities consistent with the goals of the Missions department<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other Expectations<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Submit monthly written report to Message Trust and Valcare Trust<\/li>\n<li>Attendance at weekly Tuesday Message devotions<\/li>\n<li>Attendance at weekly Mission team meetings<\/li>\n<li>Attendance at prayer days in Message HQ on a monthly basis<\/li>\n<li>Participate in Message Sunday\u2019s \u2013 sharing stories of gospel transformation<\/li>\n<li>Network with other mission ministries in the Paarl Valley<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Clear strategic vision for Paarl Valley<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with young people in prison and gangsterism<\/li>\n<li>Energy and business acumen, innovation and entrepreneurial skills<\/li>\n<li>Leadership, team-building, motivational and staff management skills<\/li>\n<li>Networking, influencing \/ promotional and negotiating skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to develop and sustain public and voluntary sector partnerships<\/li>\n<li>Strong self-motivation<\/li>\n<li>A \u201chands-on\u201d attitude, ability to roll-up sleeves and pitch-in with practical task delivery<\/li>\n<li>Be experienced in working with youth at risk in prisons, schools and communities and is passionate about sharing the Christian faith<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Personal commitment<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identification with the Trust\u2019s Statement of Values and Ethos<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to Child Protection, Equality and Diversity, and Health and Safety<\/li>\n<li>Personal integrity and commitment to working as part of a team<\/li>\n<li>The post-holder will be expected to enter fully into The Message Trust and Valcare Trust team life \u2013 including daily devotions and prayer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply,\u00a0submit your CV and a one page motivational letter to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:Gavin.Wessel@message.org.za\">Gavin.Wessel@message.org.za<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>12th October, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Message Trust is passionate about reaching young people, seeking to break the cycle of poverty, unemployment, gangsterism and crime that negatively impacts young people in communities across Cape Town&#8230;&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1350,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[19],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
