Its mission is to discover and nurture the true potential in each child and young adult placed in its care.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Fundraiser or Grant Writer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>KwaZulu Natal<br \/>\n<strong>Report to:<\/strong> CEO<\/p>\n<p>The Fundraiser \/ Grant Writer will mainly work\u00a0autonomously from home,\u00a0to maintain existing and define new fundraising opportunities and priorities, and pursue them in order to help sustain and increase funding to our Children&#8217;s Home.\u00a0The CEO will provide oversight and guidance.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage the relationship with the current donors\/partners, including maintaining a donor database\u00a0and providing donor care (in the form of thank you letters, quarterly newsletters)<\/li>\n<li>Write and submit fundraising proposals both nationally and internationally<\/li>\n<li>Oversee our Sponsor a Child programme with the help of staff and local and US volunteers<\/li>\n<li>Provide detailed reports to the funders and the board of directors with respect to the organisation&#8217;s progress, as required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a self-starter, ability\u00a0to work on your own and self-manage<\/li>\n<li>Strong relational,\u00a0interpersonal\u00a0skills to provide donor care for current and future donors, from churches to foundation grants managers, Trusts and\u00a0high net worth individuals<\/li>\n<li>Be a multitasker and have the ability to be flexible in your role and wear\u00a0more than one &#8216;hat&#8217; should this be required<\/li>\n<li>Manage (or work collectively with the Communications manager) communications<\/li>\n<li>Periodically attend fundraising workshops\/events to increase knowledge and broaden network<\/li>\n<li>work collaboratively with other Children&#8217;s homes to share best practises and improve methods<\/li>\n<li>Be passionate about helping vulnerable children<\/li>\n<li>Have prior experience with fundraising both nationally \/ internationally<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit your CV and cover letter to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:giving@lov.org.za\">giving@lov.org.za<\/a>\u00a0a<\/strong>nd put the job title as the subject line<\/p>\n<p><strong>Applicaton Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>20th September, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lily of the Valley is a nonprofit organisation and is registered as a Child and Youth Care Centre for up to 120 orphaned, vulnerable children and youth.
