world\u00a0of work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Johannesburg<\/p>\n<p>The contract offered is a fixed term contract that runs for one year and is subject to renewal.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer is to\u00a0support the division in delivering high quality Monitoring and Evaluation work which supports an evidence-based approached to education policy and planning and which sets high quality standards for the education sector.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide support to the Monitoring and Evaluation Executive and Specialist Managers on specific projects<\/li>\n<li>Contribute towards project design<\/li>\n<li>Prepare for project inception attend inception meetings and develop work plans<\/li>\n<li>Assist with project planning and preparation to facilitate a smooth implementation of project activities<\/li>\n<li>Assist with materials development in the form of programme theory and logic models, monitoring and evaluation data\u00a0collection instruments, training manuals and presentations<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate project roll-out<\/li>\n<li>Understand and manage project budgets and plan appropriately for project expenditure, in line with budgets<\/li>\n<li>Keep Monitoring and Evaluation senior staff responsible for projects updated on a regular basis and liaise with them regarding any need to make changes to projects work plans and\/or activities<\/li>\n<li>Manage primary data collection for specific Monitoring and Evaluation projects as required<\/li>\n<li>Play a lead role in projects involving\u00a0other contracted evaluators and researchers<\/li>\n<li>Prepares progress reports as per project requirements<\/li>\n<li>Attend business development meetings, develop concept notes and contribute to the development of proposals for possible new projects<\/li>\n<li>Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation\u00a0and be familiar\u00a0with organisational and divisional objectives and strategies<\/li>\n<li>Work in a flexible manner in line with the organisation\u2019s corporate objectives and be willing to undertake other duties as reasonably requested, while adhering the organisation\u2019s policies and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Provide customer care in dealings with the clients<\/li>\n<li>Understand the sensitivities of our funders and partners and respect confidentiality<\/li>\n<li>Work confidently and productively on own initiative and manage a diverse and demanding workload to set timescales and deadlines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An Honour&#8217;s Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation and\/or an equivalent degree with three years of experience<\/li>\n<li>An understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft Office, Internet and email computer skills &#8211; SPSS, R and ATLAS.ti\u00a0skills would be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation principles and methods and how they relate to education practices<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of and ability to develop logic models and indicators<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of and ability to design monitoring and evaluation instruments (interview schedules, questionnaires etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the use of graphic representation including computerised graphics<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate in English clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing &#8211; an additional South African language would be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Proven organisational skills, including time-management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To
