The Organisation\u2019s core concern is to protect children who are at risk.\u00a0This includes neglected, abused, abandoned and orphaned children, a large majority of whom are either infected or affected by HIV\/AIDS.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Occupational Health and Safety Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Durban<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong> R96 000 to R120 000 per annum, cost to company. The package is dependent upon qualification and experience<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the position is to establish a safe workplace according to legal standards and foster a culture of attention to health and safety. Facilitate compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines. Provide advice on measures to minimize hazards or unhealthy situations. Be on a constant lookout for violations.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the development of OHS policies and programmes<\/li>\n<li>Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics<\/li>\n<li>Conduct risk assessment and enforcing preventative measures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Three years\u2019 experience as an Occupational Health and Safety Officer<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the OHS Act, legislation and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices<\/li>\n<li>Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding organisational skills<\/li>\n<li>Diligent with great attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics<\/li>\n<li>BSc \/ BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred<\/li>\n<li>Diploma \/ Certificate in occupational health and safety management<\/li>\n<li>Driver\u2019s license<\/li>\n<li>Be a responsible individual who swears by OSH regulations and OHS Act<\/li>\n<li>Be conscientious and farsighted as work will be largely focused on prevention<\/li>\n<li>Be detail-oriented and ready to act in emergencies and after hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit a detailed CV to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:recruitment@cwdd.org.za\"><strong>recruitment@cwdd.org.za<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you have not heard from us within one week of the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>8th October, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Child Welfare Durban and District is a nonprofit organisation that provides a wide range of services to children, their families and communities in the Durban and Umlazi areas.
