{"id":43089,"date":"2018-10-08T11:32:40","date_gmt":"2018-10-08T09:32:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=43089"},"modified":"2018-10-08T11:32:40","modified_gmt":"2018-10-08T09:32:40","slug":"the-isivivana-centre-new-ongoing-recruitment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/the-isivivana-centre-new-ongoing-recruitment.html","title":{"rendered":"The Isivivana Centre New Ongoing Recruitment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Isivivana Centre was constructed with the support of Atlantic Philanthropies and is owned and managed by the Khayelitsha Youth &amp; Community Centre (KYCC) Trust.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Centre Director<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location: <\/strong>Khayelitsha<\/p>\n<p>The Isivivana Centre Director will provide overall leadership of the Centre, oversee its operational and financial management, and report to and support the Board of Trustees to ensure that the Centre remains a successful and dynamic space.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key areas of responsibility will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Developing creative strategy for the long term success and development of the Centre &#8211; both in terms of the precinct in which it is located as well as its projects, staff, and facilities<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring that effective management systems are in place so that the Centre runs smoothly in all aspects of administration, services, and maintenance<\/li>\n<li>Overall management of all building staff, ensuring that they all work well together in strong and dedicated teams<\/li>\n<li>Overseeing the long term financial planning needs of the Centre in terms of budgeting, forecasting, investments, asset management, tax planning, audits and other aspects as needed<\/li>\n<li>Developing and implement financial systems and controls for effective financial reporting, security, donor and grant administration, accounting, payroll, and banking<\/li>\n<li>Overall responsibility for ensuring that the building is occupied to capacity<\/li>\n<li>Helping to maintain a supportive, participatory, and vibrant environment within the Centre across tenants and stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring governance protocols are followed, such as those relating to provisions of the trust deed, the Trust\u2019s PBO status and other requirements of good governance as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Arranging and attend Board of Trustee meetings when required and take decisions forward<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <strong>Centre Director<\/strong> must be a strategic thinker with the ability to inspire those around them. Other requirements for this exciting and challenging position include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience working in a human rights or community organisation or in a senior role or setting that would be appropriate preparation for this position<\/li>\n<li>Tertiary qualification<\/li>\n<li>5-10 years of relevant senior management experience<\/li>\n<li>Ability to take on both bigger picture problems and day to day ones and find intelligent, creative solutions<\/li>\n<li>A good understanding of the political context of the Centre\u2019s work and how to navigate it<\/li>\n<li>Excellent relationship and alliance building abilities<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage conflict and conflicting needs in a constructive and forward looking way<\/li>\n<li>Excellent skills and proven experience regarding management, human resources, and financial systems<\/li>\n<li>Ability to fundraise and manage grants and grant relationships effectively, a track-record in successful fundraising is a key requirement<\/li>\n<li>Well-developed verbal and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in isiXhosa is advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Unendorsed driver&#8217;s license<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>View the full job description and application instructions onthe Vacancies page at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.actionappointments.co.za\/\">www.actionappointments.co.za<\/a> and\u00a0email your application by <strong>Monday<\/strong> <strong>29<sup>th<\/sup> October 2018 <\/strong>to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:lisa@actionappointments.co.za\"><strong>lisa@actionappointments.co.za<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Isivivana Centre was constructed with the support of Atlantic Philanthropies and is owned and managed by the Khayelitsha Youth &amp; Community Centre (KYCC) Trust.
