(HPCSA).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Senior Project Manager Literacy<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location: <\/strong>Head Office \u2013 \u00a0Pretoria<br \/>\n<strong>Department: <\/strong>Reading Support Programme<br \/>\n<strong>Reporting to: <\/strong>Chief of Party<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Purpose of the Job<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To assist the Project Chief of Party, in implementing the Reading Support Project<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main activities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop detailed project plans and implementation tools<\/li>\n<li>Engage with stakeholders and monitor implementation<\/li>\n<li>Co-ordinate technical teams and partner organisation activities<\/li>\n<li>Review project performance against budget, work-plans and targets<\/li>\n<li>Develop standard operating procedures for the project<\/li>\n<li>Stay\u00a0abreast of\u00a0new\u00a0developments\u00a0in\u00a0early\u00a0literacy\u00a0that\u00a0can\u00a0influence\u00a0project\u00a0design<\/li>\n<li>Report on project deliverables to the donor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s degree or PHD in education \u2013 preferably with a focus on African Home Language and English literacy<\/li>\n<li>Management qualification<\/li>\n<li>Project Management qualification or\u00a0substantial\u00a0experience\u00a0 in\u00a0project management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum 7 years\u2019 project management experience working within the education field in South Africa<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Technical competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Literacy\u00a0teaching proficiency<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects of project management as well as project management techniques and tools<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while working as part of a team<\/li>\n<li>Ability to plan, balance &amp; cope with competing priorities<\/li>\n<li>Strong quantitative and analytical skills, verbal and ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical colleagues<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated skills and knowledge around education improvement projects<\/li>\n<li>Broad understanding of the Basic Education environment in South Africa<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring and Evaluation competencies<\/li>\n<li>Strong problem solving abilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Leadership competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong leadership, management and facilitation skills required as well as the ability to work within the South African Basic Education framework<\/li>\n<li>Provide direction and supervision to sub-ordinates and stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal skills and high levels of emotional intelligence<\/li>\n<li>Proven relationship management skills (public and private)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a complex environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Financial Management competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to manage a budget<\/li>\n<li>Excellent human resource management skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Research<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An academic publication track record would be a benefit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Risk Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to identify and manage risks pertaining to a project<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Networking<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must display strong networking ability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Communication<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Presentation skills<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in written and verbal communication<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Computer
