More specifically, our goal is to create exciting and high impact learning environments in low-income areas with a view to helping learners in Grades 6 &#8211; 8 to establish strong foundations in mathematics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Programme Manager<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:<\/strong> Soweto, Johannesburg<br \/>\n<strong>Start Date:\u00a0<\/strong>7 January 2019 (negotiable)<br \/>\n<strong>Contract Type:<\/strong>\u00a012\u00a0months, fixed-term (subject to renewal)<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the Programme Manager is to oversees programmes at five partner schools, which equates to ten classrooms or approximately 250 learners.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage relationships with partner schools (principals, maths H.O.Ds teachers)<\/li>\n<li>Handle logistics involved with the programmes (finance, transport, connectivity)<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the development of the programme (curriculum, games, activities, worksheets)<\/li>\n<li>Support and mentor coaches<\/li>\n<li>Arrange parents evenings, prize-giving\u2019s etc. to encourage parent buy-in and commitment<\/li>\n<li>Train coaches and teachers on the use of Khan Academy<\/li>\n<li>Additional administrative tasks required to develop the\u00a0organisation<\/li>\n<li>Plan and prepare for Coach Bootcamp (December) and Learner Math Camp (July)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelors\u2019 Degree or equivalent<\/li>\n<li>Higher grade Maths through to matric<\/li>\n<li>Teaching or tutoring experience<\/li>\n<li>Involvement \/ leadership in outreach or extra-curricular projects<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability and willingness to multi-task and maintain a high quality of work<\/li>\n<li>Interest in and ability to handle new and changing technologies<\/li>\n<li>Interest in mentoring and developing future teachers<\/li>\n<li>Own transport and valid drivers\u2019 license<\/li>\n<li>Be dedicated to our cause, passionate about mathematics, and have strong organisational and people skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply,\u00a0submit a CV and letter of motivation (maximum two pages) to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:vacancies@numeric.org\"><strong>vacancies@numeric.org<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>quoting \u201cJHB Programme Manager\u201d in the subject line.<\/p>\n<p>Ensure that your letter of motivation explains your interest in Numeric and outlines why you would be well suited to this position.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline: <\/strong>2nd November, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Numeric is a small team of friendly people who are on a mission to help young South Africans excel in mathematics.
