The Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation (DTHF) is a registered nonprofit organisation focused on the pursuit of excellence in research, treatment, training and prevention of HIV and related infections in Southern Africa.<\/p>\n
Job Title:\u00a0Clinical Nurse Practitioner<\/strong> \nJob Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Philippi Village, Cape Town \nDuration:<\/strong> One year part-time fixed term contract 25 hours per week<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n
\n
Provide a client focused youth friendly sexual and reproductive health service<\/li>\n
Collect study samples<\/li>\n
Gynecological examinations and colposcopy<\/li>\n
Maintain strict client confidentiality<\/li>\n
Provide pre- and post-test counselling, as well as risk reduction counselling, for\u00a0clients<\/li>\n
HIV testing<\/li>\n
Obtain blood and tissue samples and processing them as required<\/li>\n
Conduct study procedures including contraception, participant diaries etc<\/li>\n
Perform other client care procedures as required<\/li>\n
Enter data on case report forms and processing<\/li>\n
Perform Quality Control (QC) checks on CRFs and source documents<\/li>\n
Keep accurate statistics of client visits<\/li>\n
Order stock<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Requirements:<\/p>\n
\n
Nursing Diploma or Degree and registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Clinical Nurse Practitioner<\/li>\n
Sexual and Reproductive Health SRHS course certificate<\/li>\n
Minimum of two years nursing experience with a minimum two years\u2019 gynecology experience<\/li>\n
Experience working with survivors of sexual assault \/ rape<\/li>\n
Knowledge of HIV\/AIDS and counselling<\/li>\n
Due to the sensitive nature of the study protocol only female applicants will be considered<\/li>\n
Computer literacy with sound knowledge of email, word processing and internet<\/li>\n
Fluent in English (verbal and written)<\/li>\n
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills<\/li>\n
Ability to work well under pressure and to maintain effectiveness during changing conditions<\/li>\n
Ability to work harmoniously with youth of diverse backgrounds<\/li>\n
Client focused<\/li>\n
Ability to work in a team and to be able to foster a collaborative relationship with local clinics and hospitals<\/li>\n
Must be detail orientated<\/li>\n
Nursing experience within a research environment<\/li>\n
Working knowledge of an adolescent friendly clinical environment<\/li>\n
Training in Contraception including implant insertion<\/li>\n
