We work with communities to bring about sustainable change, with the hope of empowering people to build stronger communities, and provide much-needed emergency aid when disasters strike.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Marketing Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Durban<\/p>\n<p>The Marketing Officer will be responsible for all things marketing and communications related. Generate creative campaign concepts for online and print products, to drive deeper engagement and yield amongst target audiences, and work closely with external designers to develop design briefs, graphics and visual or audio images for product illustrations, logos and websites.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage the planning, content development and execution of marketing campaigns<\/li>\n<li>Conceptualise new marketing material projects and develop interactive design<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with other team members and external resources to fulfill deliverables such as documents, leaflets, infographics, digital content, and advertising<\/li>\n<li>Review designs for errors before printing or publishing<\/li>\n<li>Manage the workflow and prioritise the most important briefs<\/li>\n<li>Creatively produce new ideas and concepts<\/li>\n<li>Produce fresh, engaging content for the website, social media and other communication channels<\/li>\n<li>Promote events and activities to target audiences using various channels including digital, online and offline materials<\/li>\n<li>Write marketing deliverable briefs for agencies and in-house production teams and monitor outputs<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with other departments and partnering organisations to lead on marketing and communications initiatives, including PR<\/li>\n<li>Manage project schedules to ensure that deadlines are met and provide weekly updates to senior managers<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate fundraising campaigns and events to encourage increased giving or participation<\/li>\n<li>Manage agencies and suppliers, and control quality, delivery and service<\/li>\n<li>Take responsibility for developing own knowledge of marketing communications and the sector, along with keeping up to date on new developments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum of 12 to 18 months\u2019 experience in a similar role<\/li>\n<li>Strong project management skills and initiative<\/li>\n<li>Writing, editing and proofreading skills<\/li>\n<li>Interpersonal, communications, organisational, time management and multi-tasking skills<\/li>\n<li>Results-orientated with a strong sense of\u00a0urgency to ensure work is completed in the expected timelines at high levels of quality<\/li>\n<li>Self-motivated with an ability to work independently as well as part of a team<\/li>\n<li>Strong ability to think creatively and strategically<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work calmly and collaboratively across teams in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment<\/li>\n<li>Independent judgement, strategic vision an ability to challenge constructively<\/li>\n<li>Customer focus and the ability to deal with and take ownership and solve complex customer issues<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications<\/li>\n<li>Graphic Design related qualification<\/li>\n<li>Marketing \/ Communications qualification<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience working within the NGO sector<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit\u00a0your CV, with a one page motivational letter, and portfolio (where available), to:\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:Recruitment@pennyappeal.org.za\">Recruitment@pennyappeal.org.za<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Regret only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>9th November, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Penny Appeal is a humanitarian charity working to transform lives around the globe.
