More specifically, Numeric\u2019s goal is to create exciting and high impact learning environments in low-income areas with a view to helping learners in Grade 7 to establish strong foundations in mathematics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Programme\u00a0Manager<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Pinetown, Durban<br \/>\n<strong>Start Date:<\/strong> January 2019 (negotiable)<br \/>\n<strong>Contract Type:<\/strong>\u00a0 12 months, fixed-term (subject to renewal)<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the Programme Manager is to\u00a0oversee\u00a0programmes at five partner schools, which equates to ten classrooms or approximately 250 learners.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage relationships with partner schools (principals, maths H.O.Ds, teachers)<\/li>\n<li>Handle logistics involved\u00a0with\u00a0the programmes (finance, transport, connectivity)<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the development of the programme (curriculum, games, activities, worksheets)<\/li>\n<li>Support and mentor coaches<\/li>\n<li>Arrange parents\u2019 evenings, prize-giving\u2019s etc. to encourage parent buy-in and commitment<\/li>\n<li>Train coaches and teachers on the use of Khan Academy and Numeric learning tools<\/li>\n<li>Additional administrative tasks required to develop the\u00a0organisation<\/li>\n<li>Plan and prepare for the Coach Bootcamp (December) and Learner Math Camp (July)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelors\u2019 Degree or equivalent<\/li>\n<li>Higher grade mathematics<\/li>\n<li>Teaching or tutoring experience<\/li>\n<li>Involvement or leadership in outreach or extra-curricular projects<\/li>\n<li>Communication and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability and willingness to multi-task and maintain a high quality of work<\/li>\n<li>Interest and ability to handle new and changing technologies<\/li>\n<li>Interest in mentoring and developing future teachers<\/li>\n<li>Own transport and valid drivers\u2019 license<\/li>\n<li>Be dedicated to our cause, passionate about mathematics, and have strong organisational and people skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply,\u00a0submit a CV and letter of motivation (maximum two pages) to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:vacancies@numeric.org\">vacancies@numeric.org<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>quoting \u201cKZN Programme Manager \u201d in the subject line.<\/p>\n<p>Ensure that your letter of motivation explains your interest in Numeric and outlines why you would be well suited to this position.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>23rd November, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Numeric is a small team of friendly people who are on a mission to help young South Africans excel in mathematics.
