Our programmes are concentrated into three focus areas: Education, Sustainable Livelihoods, and Health and Nutrition. Our vision is to be a catalyst for the creation of vibrant and sustainable rural communities. In partnership with our community, government, NGO&#8217;s and other innovative thinkers, the Bulungula Incubator aims to achieve our vision through finding synergies between traditional rural African culture, and external technologies and innovations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Community Nurse<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Eastern Cape<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Objective<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Health Programme is looking for suitably qualified and dynamic individuals to be part of the Health Team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Performance Areas and Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bulungula Incubator<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wellness Wagon (Primary Schools Mobile Clinic Services)\u00a02 weeks in Xhora Mouth and 2 weeks in Coffee bay<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Wellness Wagon services include immunization, deworming, vitamin supplements and general clinic services<\/li>\n<li>Visit relevant schools and see the learners according to the agreement of the school and issue referrals when necessary and follow-up<\/li>\n<li>Prepare the reports and statistics of the two weeks in the two areas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Assist in the outreaches on Wednesday and conduct own outreach as needed<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>See all patients and administer medication and do referrals when necessary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Family planning Education and Implementation\/ Service at Nqileni health point every Thursday<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Spend time with each client doing education and how the family planning method works<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mentoring and Support of\u00a0 Home Based Carers (HBCs)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify training needs for\u00a0 HBCs and all Health Programme staff and training thereof by you or service provider<\/li>\n<li>In conjunction with the Health Programme Manager and her assistant, hold meetings with the HBCs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Home visits in all 4 villages we operate from, namely Nqileni, Tshezi, Folokhwe, and Mgojweni<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify health issues that cause concern and advocate thereof<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Distribution of prenatal vitamins to pregnant women<\/p>\n<p>Network with people that can add value to our programme e.g. other NGOs and Government departments<\/p>\n<p>In conjunction with the Health Programme Manager or \/ and any relevant person from BI, attend health meetings with different stakeholders<\/p>\n<p><strong>Role Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Passion for rural development work is essential<\/li>\n<li>Diploma in Nursing including General Nurse, Psychiatry, Community nursing and Midwifery is required<\/li>\n<li>Strong desire to improve rural health<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to relate to children and motivate them<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and understanding of the South African Health Policies<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate in IsiXhosa<\/li>\n<li>Strong computer skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to succeed in challenging environments and problem &#8211; solving<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to live in a remote rural village as a community member<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to mentor and train others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and level of experience.<\/p>\n<p>To apply, please send your detailed CV with two contactable referees, certified copies of academic and professional qualifications, copy of ID plus a letter of motivation to:<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ngopulse.org\/opportunity\/2018\/10\/25\/bongezwa@bulungulaincubator.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bongezwa@bulungulaincubator.org<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For enquiries about this post, please call Bongezwa on 047 577 8908\/12.
